Really hard matchup. He can poke easily and run away without taking damage. His w counters your mini form so try to fight when mega and rush armor.
Camille
Pretty easy mathcup for you. Just watchout for his e and you'r ok.
Cho'Gath
You literally counter this guy with your mini form. Just kite him. HARD.
Darius
Darius is a pain in the ass champ to deal with. He can win any long fights so avoid fighting him. Poke him as much as you can and avoid his E range.
Dr. Mundo
This is just a skillshot match. Don' let him q you in mid and late game. Because its cd is really small. And do NOT try to dive him after lvl 6.
Fiora
Really hard matchup for gnar. She can counter your mega abilities like a cake with her W. She can also counter your mini gnar w proc if she uses properly. I would highly suggest to stay safe.
Gangplank
Depends on the gp. If he stays passive you can kill him after he ults somewhere else. If he plays aggresive than stay safe.
Garen
Really easy matchup for you. Kite him hard and finish him with mega gnar. He has no answers to any ability you have.
Illaoi
Bait her e and be aware of tentacles. And do not dive or gang her if she is 6 and ahead. You would give her double kill.
Irelia
This new irelia is the same cancer as the old one. Try to avoid her stun. In most of the cases, she will win the trades so poke her and then go all in.
Jax
Jax is a god tier toplaner but he is really weak against you. You dodge his q+e combo with your E. Try to fight him when your e is active so you do not get stunned.
Kled
Haven't seen a great kled match with gnar. But since I do play kled I would suggest you to watch out for his rage when skaarl is off. When he mounts back or dismounts he becomes immune to cc. He can easily counter your ult like this if he plays well.
Malphite
Really easy lane. Poke hard, trade hard and think twice before diving.
Master Yi
!BAN THIS CHAMPION! The most cancer champion alive. His q counters your mega form, his ulti and damage counters your mini form. DO NOT play aggresive. Otherwise he will be snowballed a lot.
Nasus
Super easy lane since you can poke him when he tries to stack. Try to poke him a lot in the early game. When you get ahead, do not worry about the late game.
Ornn
He has a lot of cc. Be aware of his ulti because most of the time he will use it to gang with someone.
Pantheon
Really hard matchup for you. He will poke and kill you in early game. Hard stack armor and wait for gangs. After level 6, you get ahead so try to use your ult effectively.
Poppy
Poppy may seem easy but she has a lot of tricks to use. Her q deals damage more than you can think. Her w counters your e. Other than that do not stay close to walls and you should kill her.
Renekton
Renekton and Pantheon are both early game dudes. Do not try to trade him if you cannot generate fury. Play safe and watch him drop at the late game.
Rengar
Depends on the rengar. If he plays aggresively you will be most likely to be dead early game. But in late game you can counter his ult with mega gnar and stack armor to make him useless.
Riven
Skill matchup. You can kill him easily and she can kill you easily too. Watch out for level 6.
Shen
Pretty easy matchup. You can all in in level 6 if you have phage. Most importantly warn your teammate about his ult.

No idea how hes like after the nerf.
Sion
He will try to bait your e so he can stun with his q. Play aware and kill him later.
Trundle
Pretty hard to deal with him. He gains massive ms, he slows and his ult makes him invincible like. Play aware.

He has a lot of damage and can dive you if you are "Tired". Use your brain and try to manage your fury.
Vladimir
Bait his w and ur ok. Also be aware of his massive q damage. You can see this when its bar gets red.
Wukong
High damage, massive early game champ. You will be having trouble a lot. Play passive and wait for gangs.
Yorick
Easy matchup. Kite him and dodge his abilities. You can also use your e to get out of his wall.
Hello! Im kalkans1 from TR. I have 200k Gnar and im Gold. I have been playing this champ for 2 years to climb the ranked. I mainly use Gnar for Flex games because Gnar has an amazing tf capability. You can also win every lane if you communicate with your jungle and mid. In solo/duo I do not use Gnar because even if you get ahead in lane phase you cannot carry your team.

You can not change the spells for gnar. You will need flash for any situation. And TP for early & late teamfights and for lane.

Gnar is mainly for TFs! Try to be in every team fight when you have tp since you can stun and deal a lot damage to enemy bot and mid lane. Your ult may seem easy to use but its really hard to use it properly in TF's. Try to throw them to wall EVERYTIME. They get %50 more damage and they get stunned, which is an easy kill for your team. Your E is also a great way to start TF. I also suggest you to try the animation cancel with your ult. It saves you a lot of time.
