Introduction

Hey guys, this is my first build and its on Nocturne!
All the items may seem expensive, but I never said the build has to be completed for you to own because most games I only get halfway and it's still good.
Also, Nocturne is a pretty good farmer so don't think this is impossible!
Please note, that I'm not level 30 yet, but the Masteries and Runes were deeply thought up and not randomly made - plus, they will be explained so keep reading :D
Btw, I hope this build helps you all out! And remember to test it before you rate it!

P.S.: Im open to some suggestions and criticism, but dont be too harsh rofl!

Runes

Greater Mark Of Desolation Greater Mark Of Desolation - Since Nocturne is practically Pure Damage, he/it has to slice through that armor.
Greater Seal Of Evasion - With Nimbleness, the dodge can save your life, or preserve it for more owning!
Greater Glyph Of Replenishment Greater Glyph Of Replenishment - In the beginning of the game, Nocturne is very mana starved. A couple of Duskbringers and you have to return home or buy mana pots. This helps over time and gets you the needed mana.
Greater Quintessence Of Desolation Greater Quintessence Of Desolation - Even more Armor Penetration to help you face tanks.

Summoner Spells

MY SPELLS:
Heal - Alright I chose this summoner spell because Nocturne has a pretty low - average amount of health, and this would increase his survivability and help when pinned.
Ignite - With those runners/healers/potion users/life stealers, this spell if very handy.

OTHER SPELLS:
Ghost - this spell would be useful if your trying to chase down a fast champion such as Master Yi or Teemo, and its also useful for getting away. Oh, and get the mastery Haste for this to make it more effective.
Clarity - as I said before Nocturne is very mana starved, especially in the beginning. Mid - Late game hes not so much but this is a good spell anyhow if you love spamming Dust Bringer.
Smite - If you want to jungle at low levels then Smite is for you - otherwise somewhere around late game the spell is pretty useless.
Exhaust - although Dust Bringer does a pretty good job of slowing, if you want to pin down a tough person and lower their attack then this is a good Spell. Also, if your choosing this spell choose the spell mastery Cripple for it to lower the target's armor and own them.

Masteries

I'm not going to go into details about the masteries, but I made it so that Nocturne receives the most survivability and damage.

Btw, Adjust accordingly if you changed your summoner spells.

Skills

Umbra Blades -
Passive: Every 10 seconds, Nocturne's next attack strikes surrounding enemies for physical
damage and heals himself for each target hit. Nocturne's physical attacks reduce
this cooldown by 1 second.
Cooldown: 10 sec.
Physical Damage: 120% Of Nocturne's Damage
Range: Hits Surrounding Units
Heals: 15/20/25 per target hit

Duskbringer -
On Cast: Nocturne throws a shadow blade which deals damage, leaves a Dusk Trail, and causes champions hit to also leave a Dusk Trail. While on the trail, Nocturne ignores unit collision and has increased Movement Speed and Attack Damage.
Cooldown: 10 sec.
Range: 1200.
Cost: 60/65/70/75/80 mana.
Physical Damage: 60/110/160/210/260 (+0.75 per bonus attack damage).
Movement Speed Bonus: 15/20/25/30/35%.
Attack Damage Bonus: 20/30/40/50/60.
Notes: This attack is great after use of Paranoia, its good by itself, and a great combo with Unspeakable Horror. Btw, this Ability is really great for escaping and chasing!

Shroud of Darkness -
Passive: Nocturne empowers his blades, and passively gains attack speed.
On Cast: Nocturne creates a magical barrier for 2 seconds which blocks the next enemy spell. If an ability is blocked by the shield, his passive attack speed is doubled for 5 seconds.
Cost: 50 mana.
Cooldown: 20/18/16/14/12 sec.
Passive Attack Speed Bonus: 20/25/30/35/40%.
Notes: I atleast get this ability to 1 because it acts like a banshee's veil so I use it in an emergency, but its not important so its leveled last. Use after you charge at someone with Duskbringer, or Paranoia as the opponent might panic and use a spell on you. Also use when an ability is used such as Kassadin or Ezreal's Special.

Unspeakable Horror -
On Cast: Nocturne plants a nightmare into his target's mind, dealing magic damage over 2 seconds and fearing the target if they do not get out of 600 range of him for the full duration.
Range: 500.
Cost: 60/65/70/75/80 mana.
Cooldown: 15/14/13/12/11 sec.
Total Magic Damage: 50/100/150/200/250 (+1.0 per ability power).
Fear Duration: 1/1.25/1.5/1.75/2 sec.
Notes: This is a great move when used on a chase after Duskbringer so the Target does not have control over itself and you can deal more damage! Also, for a Champion like Nunu, who uses his Ultimate with the swirly ice thing, using Unspeakable Horror would cancel it out!

Paranoia -
On Cast: Nocturne reduces the sight radius of all enemy champions and removes their ally vision for 4 seconds, this includes champions, minions, wards and towers. He can then launch himself at a enemy champion with a large range. Deals physical damage on arrival.
Cost: 100 mana.
Range: 2000.
Cooldown: 160/130/100 sec.
Physical Damage: 150/300/450 (+1.2 per bonus attack damage).
Range: 2500/3250/4000.
Notes: When using Paranoia, Nocturne can launch at ANY enemy champion within range and sight radius AND he can go through walls/towers/heroes/minions/etc. to get to his target. Once you hit the targeet, use Duskbringer then Unspeakable Horror to max out your damage.
Also, if you are under attack, and an enemy champion (which is weak, or next to ally) is within range - you can use Paranoia to escape.

Items

Ok the first item I buy is the Dagger = . If you want you can buy a couple Health Pots or Mana Pots, but I prefer to save up and just buy the Dagger. Once you gain enough money you would want to complete the Berserker Greaves = Berserker Greaves.
After that, gain enough money for The Brutalizer = and then buy Youmuu's Ghostblade = . With that item Nocturne gains a bigger boost and is able to gank better. Next buy Phage = for more health and a passive slowing attack. Now finish up the Frozen Mallet = . Now some of you might be looking at me weird - Why Frozen Mallet? Well its for the Health and the Damage because I bet all of you who played Nocturne or Against Nocturne have realized that he is reasonably squishy, or lacks health. Now moving on to Zeal = this would bring increased Movement and attack speed to Nocturne. It then builds up into Phantom Dancer = which adds even more attack speed with some good Critical. The next thing would give Nocturne a huge boost in attack power, Infinity Edge = which adds to the critical with Phantom Dancer and improves Nocturne's Attack power by 75! Finally, adding more to Nocturne, add The Bloodthirster = Nocturne's passive ability Umbra Blades give him some health, but with Bloodthirster it would give him even more - not to mention his attack would rise up!

OPTIONALS/EXTRA

Ok, when I mean to buy something like The Brutalizer = to build up Youmuu's Ghostblade = , you can also buy the Avarice Blade = to build up for Youmuu's Ghostblade incase your a little short on money. Samething applies to the rest of the items.

Also, if its late game and you still have the same items and extra gold, sell Berserker Greaves for something like another Phantom Dancer = , or The Black Cleaver = . And if you find that your health is still to low, sell the Frozen Mallet = , or Youmuu's Ghostblade for Warmog's Armor =

Teamwork

This will be a short subsection.

HOW TO USE NOCTURNE:
Nocturne can be used anyway you want, but I preferably use him for ganking as thats what his abilities do. I also use him for 1v1 for surprise attacks (from like a bush or something).

His ultimate is one of the best Ganking abilities I have ever seen! If a team mate is in trouble or theres a lone champion out there, you can reach the champion quick and deal massive damage! If they aren't dead, chase them down using Dustbringer then use Unspeakable Horror and finish it off with Youmuu's Ghostblade (if you need it) and kill! :D

At the beginning every champion is level 1, with the use of Dustbringer in the beginning Nocturne can deal alot of damage from the start because of the passive effect of Dustbringer which means = more kills!

Feel free to play Nocturne in your own way but this is how I like to use him.
And remember, if your ganking a tank bring a team mate, or if your ganking 2.

GANKING IS YOUR FRIEND, IF 1 ENEMY CHAMPION IS DOWN INA LANE, THE LANE IS 1 CHAMPION WEAKER.
Which means push! Also, in team fights get them all in a group with Dustbringer and solo out a champion using Unspeakable horror!

Farming/Jungling

Farming:
Nocturne isn't the best farmer, but he is certainly better than most.
His ability Umbra Blades is a passive ability which activates after 10 seconds, and cooldown shortens after each basic attack.

With each item that increases Nocturne's attack damage, Umbra Blades gets stronger!
And it hits at 120% damage, which is pretty nice for killing minions/creeps.

A good way to farm is by using Duskbringer , and then attacking the minions because by Standing/Moving on Duskbringer, it passively gives Nocturne more Attack Damage and avoids unit collision! So then you can get in the middle of that minion crowd and spin around for gold! Or you can do it the normal way and attack where the minions are grouping.

Jungling:
You don't have to use Smite to jungle, but if your facing the big guys like the Blue Golem in Summoner's Rift or the Wolfs/Wraiths that have lil spinny things around them in Twisted Treeline then go ahead. Btw I'm not really experienced at Jungling early as I do it when I'm level 5 or so. If you die by this - don't blame me xP Oh and if some of it is to risky, then don't risk it. This is kinda a rough guide of Jungling for Nocturne because really, this build is for owning heroes >.<

Summoner's Rift:
For both maps Nocturne should attack the wolves first, as they are the weakest. At level 1 the wolves can lower your health really low, so either bring a Potion, Regen, or Heal would do. Then move on to attack the Wraiths. If the wolves respawned already, attack them, if not attempt to attack (if your around level 3 or 4) the 2 Golems. After that kill the wolves and the wraiths again, move on to the Golems, then attack the Lizard. Once your a decent level 8 or so, attack the Blue Golem. When your rougly 10+ level, attack the dragon.
Now do what you want - but remember if your almost dead, don't risk it xD

Twisted Treeline:
For both maps Nocturne should attack the wolves first, as they are the weakest. At level 1 the wolves can lower your health really low, so either bring a Potion, Regen, or Heal would do. Next, attack the bottom jungle and kill the normal Golem,Lizard, and Other Wraith. If you can't do it, don't and instead attack the wolves again and later the 2 Golems.
