My rune choice on zed is much like the rest of zed players. Electrocute is very important so you can get the extra burst on the enemy champion and is always a must have. Sudden Impact helps for a bit of extra damage when you engage on them with w or r. The new [ghost poro]] is really good compared to before. You can get easy deep jungle vision on the enemy after you push a wave with your Living Shadow and then get the bonus ad. Ultimate Hunter is good just so you can have ult up more than usual, but you can also go with Relentless Hunter for the roaming. In patch 8.14, having the sorcery tree as your secondary is pretty much a must have. Scorch helps with your early game damage since it is pretty weak but if you want more damage in the late game, you could go Gathering Storm but that is not recommend at all. Finally, Transcendence is outstandingly good for the extra 10% cdr at lvl 10 and is pretty much a must have.
Very good and is a must have item on zed for strong bursts against enemy champions.
yomuu's ghostblade Another must have item that synergizes very will with Duskblade of Draktharr that also helps with burst and helps you get around the map quicker with a bonus of the active letting you chase enemies faster.
This is once again, a core item in your build that helps with burst and the shield is very useful for blocking out cc when you come out of your ult. When you start building your third item, check who on the enemy team is building any armor. If 2 or less champions are building armor, build Edge of Night after your Duskblade of Draktharr and yomuu's ghostblade
This is another core item that you build that helps destroy your opponents that are building armor. If the enemy team has 3 or more champions building armor, build a lord domink's regards after your Duskblade of Draktharr and yomuu's ghostblade.
Stormrazor is a situational item that helps with split pushing and burst enemy champions down to the ground.
Bork is a great item for split pushing and killing tanks but is very situational and isn't recommended unless you are going to split push the entire game.
This is a very useful item to have against comps with a lot of ad because of the armor it gives and the ad it gives. Yet again, it is situational.
Another situational item that is very good in terms of sustain giving you 80 ad, and completing your 40% cdr which is very important.
A great situational item to complete your 40% cdr and give you the magic resist we all love against ap comps.
A decent situation item that helps a lot with split pushing with the Sheen proc and the attack speed.

The skill sequence for Zed is really obvious. You go q Razor Shuriken e Shadow Slash w Living Shadow and then put points into r Death Mark whenever you are able to so pretty much at lvl 6, 11, and 16.
Zed is a really good champion for eliminating the back line, split pushing, and is really good at dueling any champion. Whenever he gets fed, he has a very strong carry potential and it if you can learn zed well, I bet you could get up to at least gold with him assuming you don't team up with people that troll/int. In late game, his cds are very short making him viable in a lot of situations because he almost always has his ult and w up at the 30-40% cdr mark.
Of course with a lot of pros, many cons will follow. In the early game is zeds hardest time. He will be forced to cs with q for a while because he is a melee assassin and had very weak damage in the early levels of the game. Zed is pretty much a USELESS champion until lvl 4. It is kind of like Kayn but much harsher. If you ever get cced with zed, you are probably doomed unless you have a ga. Whenever you are behind, you pretty much stay behind for the rest of the game which of course means your team has to carry you now which won't be easy. Zed is a champion with a very high skill cap so make sure you practice him a lot before you actually jump into ranked with him. Most of the match-ups you have, you have to play very safe or else you will get punished. If the enemy makes you push or freezes wave near their tower, you are forced to cs with your q Razor Shuriken because you don't want to go that deep in for cs.

Overall, Zed is not an easy champion but can be rewarding if you put the time and effort into him. You must learn his match-ups, know when to poke in lane and how to poke, combos, efforts of dodging, farming with q, and not overestimating your damage in the early game. Remember he is a very hard champion, and with practice makes perfect. Good luck summoners!
