Introdution

Hi I'm Alessio.
I play Leage of Legends since 2 years, starting in the ending of summer when i saw my brother play with Ekko.
My first champ heve been Poppy, i started play her because i saw an youtuber very good. (TerenasIII).
In the first game i was very low but i learned very quickly the mechanisms, and after 4/5 mounths i took the mastery 6.
In the April 2018 i finally took the last one mastery with this fantastic champ (i've do a lot of game with this build).

Pros / Cons (Critic)

PROS

+ You can kill enemies like butter

+ You can be useful for your team in fight

+ With your passive can do a lot of damage and in some fight this is decisive for the victory.
CONS

- you haven't a lot of live so in hearly game you are weak and you can't go 1vs1 with a tank

- Probably you steal a lot of kills

- If you feed, you will die of insults in chat (but you can mute everybody)

Pros / Cons (Tank)

Pros:

+ Great counterpick

+ when ahead you feel like a raidboss

+ Amazing all-in potential

+ Very Tank

Cons:

- Must all-in to be usefull

- Can safe enemies with R

- Relatively big cooldowns on her W

- Only good in countermatchups

- Bad extended trades

Runes Critic

Take Dark Harvest because you can do more damage with your passive and the souls that you take from Campions( 6 soul essence), Monsters( 2 solu essence), Minions( 4 soul essence).

... But for alternative choices, you could take any of the three domination keystones. They all give more damage and helpful effects, but Dark Harvest is the most ideal with this build.

Predator, that's in between. It gives movement speed and adaptive damage for your next attack, but it doesn't seem to put out amazingly. I suppose since Poppy has an innate speed boost in her kit it synergizes acceptably.

Electrocute if you hit a champion with 3 unique attacks or abilities withhin 3 seconds deals bonus adaptive damage.

For the secondaries of the Domination keystones, I prefer Sudden Impact, Eyeball Collection, and Ravenous Hunter: You have a click dash that will give you that lethality and mr shred, both of which will assist you for your Iron Ambassador, Statikk Shiv and basic attack damage; you would be killing a lot of champions, why not get more stronger?; and healing off of abilities? Why not?!

For the secondary tree, I prefer Precision, and within that, Triumph and Coup de Grace. More money and more damage, self explanatory.

Runes Tank

Grasp of the Undying: I think this is the best rune on Poppy in the toplane just because the trading power and lane sustain it gives, considering that Poppy doesnt have any sustain. your passive still triggers the full healing while being a raged attack so it synergyses pretty well.

Bone Plating: I actually think Boneplating is kinda sketch since its only usefull in lane and not really after that and most champs just poke your boneplating away. but against all in champs its pretty neet so i mostly take it on her anyway. As second choice its just demolish, cmon 500 dmg on a tower for free, but i will only take this against winning matchups ( riven, camille, yasuo and trynda ).

Conditioning: I mean free stats! and the others are more for midlane where there is way more trading/early aggression, go for late = go for conditioning.

Overgrowth: I still think its pretty usefull on a champion who doesnt have much base hp and Poppy's hp grows overtime and after 30 minutes its mostly like 400 hp, great stats.

Triumph: Its triumph its really great in teamfights or some clutch heals, tohether with visage you heal for around 60% of your hp in a teamfight.

Coup de Grace: Its a great run with a lot of bonus dmg, i always take it since poppy is a great burst champ who can take a lot of champs down within the coup de grace bonus dmg range.

Masteries

With this champion i have the mastery 7.
Before to use this build i played well but not enough for take the last mastery, with this build in midgame/lategame you can oneshot the enemy adc.
But the most important think is the farm, because if you don't have a good farm you can't have the mastery.

Spells

In the laning top this summoer-spell was very important but after the recent nerf (cooldown 5 min =>6 min) isn't useless but isn't strong like the previous patch.

In the every rules this summoner-spell is very important , because you can halp the jungler when he gank you, or when you gank oder lanes and when you fight. Just take it.

Ignite, for me, is the best summoner-spell in the toplane, because in early game take a benefit is very important.

Skill Sequence

I don't think I should have to explain the skill sequence. If you play Poppy enough, you should understand her damage comes from her Hammer Shock and Heroic Charge mostly, and that her w is a one point wonder. I suppose there could be some cases where it would be best to max w before e, such as if you were playing against a very mobile team because of dashes, but in most cases this skill sequence is what will be done most.

One situation I'm not sure about, though, is if it is better to max Hammer Shock and after Heroic Charge with this build. It's the bread and butter as it gives you a stun, and as you max it it does not increase mana cost but will effectively add a lot of damage each point provided that you stun your target. Your Hammer Shock does quite a bit of damage as well, though. It's for you to find out while I look into it more.

Your Q is important because you can use it fot stuck the electrocute for have a kill secured.

Skills

Iron Ambassador - P

Cooldown: 16 / 12 / 8 Range: 475
Poppy periodically throws her buckler on her next basic attack, granting it bonus range and 20-180 bonus magic damage (based on level), and causing the shield to fall near her target, where it remains for up to 4 seconds.

If Poppy picks up the buckler, she shields herself for 15 / 17.5 / 20% of her maximum Health for 3 seconds. Enemies can step on the buckler to destroy it.

If the buckler kills its target, it bounces back to Poppy and automatically shields her.

Tips:
Use this shield to trigger your Grasp of the Undieing every 10 seconds on the enemy laner, its good for trading and for farming from a range
Passive Video

Hammer Shock - Q

Cooldown: 8 / 7 / 6 / 5 / 4 Cost: 35 / 40 / 45 / 50 / 55 Range: 430
Poppy smashes the ground in front of her, dealing 35 / 55 / 75 / 95 / 115 (+0.9 per bonus attack damage) (+7% of target's maximum Health) physical damage to all enemies hit.

The impacted ground becomes unstable, slowing enemies that are standing on it by 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 / 40% before erupting after 1 second, dealing the same physical damage to all enemies hit.

Tips:
This ability is your main dmg due to your %HP dmg. You use it to farm and to trade in lane. Due to its low mana cost u can spam it all day long.
Q Video

Steadfast Presence - W

Cooldown: 24 / 22 / 20 / 18 / 16 Cost: 50 Range: 400
Passive: Poppy's total armor and magic resistance are increased by 10%. This effect is doubled to 20% while Poppy is below 40% of her maximum Health.

Active: Poppy gains 30% bonus movement speed for 2.5 seconds and generates a barrier around her for the duration, causing all enemies who dash within to be knocked down and take 70 / 110 / 150 / 190 / 230 (+70% of ability power) magic damage. This can only happen once per enemy champion.

Tips:
This ability is what makes Poppy so fun to play. Yasuo is dashing back and forward and BAM! he is back at his place and u will just smack him with your q and passive dealing massive dmg. Its the big NOPE ability and this is what I personally think makes poppy amazing.
W Video

Heroic Charge - E

Cooldown: 14 / 13 / 12 / 11 / 10 Cost: 70 Range: 475
Poppy dashes to the target enemy, dealing 60 / 80 / 100 / 120 / 140 (+0.5 per bonus attack damage) physical damage to them and carrying them along with her.

If they collide with terrain, she deals the same amount of physical damage to them again and stuns them for 1.6 / 1.7 / 1.8 / 1.9 / 2 seconds.

Tips:
this ability makes u one-shot your opponents, knock them in the wall let them take the 2 Q proqs. bye! bye!
E Video

Keeper's Verdict - R

Cooldown: 140 / 120 / 100 Cost: 100 Range: 500
First cast: Poppy channels for up to 4 seconds, retaining the ability to move but slowing herself by 15% for the duration. Keeper's Verdict's cooldown is reduced by 75% if its channel is canceled.

Second cast: Poppy smashes the ground, sending out a shockwave. When it hits an enemy champion, a massive hammer erupts from the ground, dealing 100/150/200 (+0.9 bonus attack damage) physical damage to all enemies around it and knocking them a large distance toward their Summoning Platform.

Poppy has sight of airborne enemies and they are rendered untargetable for the duration, with the distance increasing based on how long Keeper's Verdict was channeled. Releasing the ability instantly cancels the channel and knocks up all enemies around Poppy for 0.75 seconds and doesn't makes them untargetable instead.

Tips:
This ability requires a lot of practice, its hard to give tips about this ability since you just have to feel it. when to hold and who to R away or who to R in the air and destroy. care for the cc that can be applied to cancel your R. Send me a postcard

Farming

As Poppy your waveclear is solid because of your q ability, you can bully people with q and farm at the same time ( what you should be doing ) but how do you farm against raged matchups/lanebullies:

Every 15 seconds you have your passive, get these cannons! ( they are very important for your Dark Harvest)
If you have your shield passive go for a q on the minion wave and take all the cs you can get till your shield runs out and wait for your passive again.

If you are getting pushed under tower, get a longsword and you will be able to lasthit easilly under tower and just try to get as much cs as possible ( you will outscale 90% of the lanebullies )

Latest Patches around Poppy

Patch 8.14

New Poppy skin!!
- Hextech Poppy
For only 10 gemstones ( lmao that is like 300$ of chests )

Teleport has emerged as a dominant summoner spell in most lanes. This is particularly problematic bot lane, where it's often taken on champions who simply wish to avoid conflict in the laning phase and scale into the late game. For now, we're increasing the cooldown to give combat summoners a longer window in which to punish Teleport users.
BASE COOLDOWN: 300 seconds ⇒ 360 seconds
CANCELED COOLDOWN: 200 seconds ⇒ 240 seconds

Hextech / Star Guardian Poppy no longer display base Poppy's VFX when an enemy destroys the P - Iron Ambassador buckler
