Hello there, little Stinkee! I noticed you asking for some guidance in our Mobafire Discord the other day. So I thought I'd pop in with an official review of the champion in question, even thought you didn't ask for a review, I would be delighted to help. I'm Cat, btw!

The first thing that hits me directly, as a person who has never played Sion, is the fact that I am already overwhelmed by the sheer amount of "playstyles" you have listed. I really only ever see, Frostfire / Sunfire Sion these days in high Plat / Diamond. I do play low elo a lot and do see those silly, Prowler players, but I digress. I have in the past seen Glacial, but currently only seeing those two. I also noticed that the items you have listed, basically repeat the same thing over and over again, changing one item.

Take a look at my in-depth item listings

Comparing to yours you can see just how straight up overwhelming it is and unnecessary all of these repeating items are, this part of any guide is the "cheat-sheet" it shouldn't have notes saying. "Read the guide 4 head." it should be quick, simple and straight forward, without sounding too mean or anything. If I was looking for a Sion build, I would definitely look elsewhere on the presentation of the items alone, without bothering to read. I would highly recommend you tidy these things up.

Example

You have a decent amount of information per match-up and runes in this section, so that stuff is alright. You mentioned wanting to take the guide to the "next" level. This takes time and dedication. I myself am only now stepping up my game this coming Tuesday with my top rated Mobafire Guide. But I would be no-where without the guides here on mobafire by, Katasandra, Jhoihoi & others, give them a read and see if you can figure things out. If you can't we are always willing to assist in what we can, where we can for you.

I personally would highly recommend starting out with Columns, and working your way into Tables which are very confusing at first, but give guides a really good flair. This guide is severely lacking flair & TLC.

In terms of your structuring... I wouldn't say you have none, but. There is definitely a lot to improve here. Spacing your text out so text doesn't overlap each other becoming a wall of text, would be nice. It's basically like turning on LIGHT mode when you've enabled DARK mode for ever, you're blinded and overwhelmed by a wall.

This is rampant all throughout the guide, just walls upon walls of text smashed together. I noticed this too in your comment section.

Do this instead

I can't stress it enough on how painful it is to read guides that are written like a book, long chapters, no spaces, gotta put that finger on the word or you get lost. Help the reader stay focused, keep it short, and if it's getting to long, if it looks nice space it into sections. I don't know too much about Sion to comment on his abilties / body text, but from a visual viewpoint. You have a lot to improve if you want to compete with other top rated guides.

I agree with the others, that filler content won't really help the reader very much. You want them to focus on the champion and the guide, not really anything else. Which you've already changed which is good. But that's about all the stuff I can really give criticism for, as it's a pretty bare bones guide at first brisk glance.

I know this was rather blunt and harsh, but if you want to be the best, you really have to show how much you care. A little bit of coding, a little be of tidy and neat designs goes a long way.

I hope you take my advice into consideration and come back to this with wonderful changes.

Thank you so much for the honest, detailed feedback! I was actually looking at your Teemo guide earlier today and I was just shocked by how amazing everything looks. I'll try to reply with more spacing for this comment haha.

I definitely can see that I may have a ton of playstyles and that it may be overwhelming and some playstyles may be a lot more popular and better than others but I really wanted to highlight the ways that Sion can feel unique each game and adapt to each situation. Personally, I've seen all of those playstyles being used and look at item stats all the time but I, of course try to keep up with Sion as often as possible because I love the champion.

Also, I know people hate the Prowler's Claw thing but the best Sion (TheBausffs, Challenger EUW streamer and former G2 sub) goes it just about every game so it's definitely viable and I believe it belongs in the guide (not sure if you were insinuating that it's a troll build lol). I'd definitely like to keep all of the playstyles in the guide because for me, his versatility and being able to build just about anything and adapt to any situation is one of the many reasons why I like the champion so much and I wanted to show that to other people.

I need to work a lot on highlighting all of the different playstyles and giving in-depth descriptions for each and why he might take certain items for specific playstyles because, I agree it's a huge mess and hard to understand for someone who sees the guide for the first time.

I will admit, the AP Sion build is kinda troll and I wasn't sure if I should've put it in the guide at all but it's more of just a fun normal game build that I wanted to highlight. Also, the bruiser build could very well just be included in the tank build as it's practically the same thing, usually just 1 or 2 items different. So I could move that and clean things up.

As far as the item options, you're right, it's a mess. The reason I did it that way was because really, as a tank you have to adapt to each game. I REALLY didn't want to just put a full build in there and have a bunch of people just buy the same 6 items every game as a tank. I wanted to encourage people to read and understand what each item does and when and why to take it. I believe though I could do it in a much cleaner way or even make an "optional" or "situational" items section. I'll definitely remove most of those item build examples and clean up the rest. Other guides I've seen were able to include many item options but in a much cleaner way so I'll be looking at some of those to get some ideas.

I 100% agree on all of your other feedback. Again, I really appreciate the feedback and thanks for taking your time to look at my guide and review it! I'll be spending a lot more time in the next few months taking your feedback and try to completely reshape the guide in a way more presentable way.

It will look even better by tomorrow. I hate it's current design.

If you love something, you'll do everything to show others how much you love it, by the dedication and time you put into showcasing your information. This is true, but definitely going to have to make it visually a good read else it falls short.

I'm not saying it's not great that being Prowler's Claw it just makes him an annoying suicide champion that he used to be back in season 8? Where all he did was die, and siege costing 20 gold and there being no counter play because he was tanky.
It's just one of those builds you see in low elo more so than high elo. Is what I was referring to, not saying it's bad.

If I was here to read about Sion, I wouldn't be here for more than 2 seconds, as there would most likely be another guide out there formatted in a well organized manner. This takes time, but you can look through other guides for examples.

People who come to guides normally want the "best" that's the whole reason they use guides, to get better, not to mess around and try wacky new things. If something is troll / meme, just keep it relevant to the champion. Serious builds.

That would be for the best, as there are many different ways. I use item sets and item groups to clean up and separate items and full builds, something you can think about, if you'd like to use a style like my own. It's pretty clean and cut nicely.

Once again, it's not a problem you can start little by little by learning the coding process through the guides, or even just ask one of us on Discord. We are always available and ready to help, some more than others, when we are not busy.
