Malphite is not a tank. No No No. He is an assassin. Like all assassins, Malphite has an EXTREMELY high skill cap that involves complex skills like pressing R.

Max Q as fast as possible, with a complete max at level 8. Your Q maxed does 270 damage without AP, and will be doing over 300 by the time you get to level 8. The cooldown is so short that you can constantly poke the enemy laner, even if they have more AP and range. You WILL out damage them as long as you don't get caught in cc. Most mid laners will accidentally let 2 or 3 Q's hit them before they get the clue to back off. At this point, you use your E to help cs, while standing in front of the minions and threatening the opponent with more Qs. The harass from Q makes Malphite a lane bully, and he should be played extremely aggressively. You can't screw over their wards with Lens and Control Wards unless they're the ones pushed into the tower. Most likely, you will be down cs early, but that's okay. Keep them at around 500 health, because that's their "safe zone" before they recall back, and then as soon as you hit level six, ult in, Q, E, and ignite. It doesn't matter if they only have 100 health. Use everything, you're going for the disrespect. Once you get the first kill, you snowball like crazy, and basically guarantee a kill every time you roam.If the enemy Jungler tries to gank pre six, you have to Q the jungler and hope you can run, because you'll be pushed up the whole time. Post six, you can use the R Q E combo to most likely just one shot the jungler. You're a Malphite, they won't expect it the first time around.

This is your strongest point. Make sure you don't do teamfights often, because you WILL be killed instantly due to your lack of health. If you do get into teamfights, be sure to specifically R Q E the enemy adc no matter what. Dying for the adc kill is worth it. Other than that, look for stragglers with half health and delete them. Assassin Malph also deals insane damage to turrets, so if you're feeding like crazy, just split push.

Late game is very interesting. You can destroy turrets in about 4 seconds, you can solo the nexus in about 5, and you can one shot anyone with 3000 health or less. However, you also get one shot by almost everyone. Waiting for your ult to be up is a necessity, you will struggle to get kills without it. You'll find that you're using your ult a lot more as a disengage than as an engage once you hit late game.
