Her early game damage with Pix can be insane and like with brand, laning phase can suck. Good in teamfights too at protecting her ADC or disabling you. This is normally who I ban as I'd rather not deal with it.
Preface
For most players, the biggest question/problem they will have with this guide is the lack of what many consider a "universally required" summoner spell. I do not deny that Flash is a great summoner spell both offensively and defensively but I have personally found Ignite to be just as viable if not better at times.
In regards to using Flash as a defensive tool, I simply believe with conscious awareness of where you position yourself at all times that it can be quite unnecessary. Playing without Flash will take some time to get used to, but I believe it can help you improve as it forces you to be more aware as you are without a safety net that most people rely on. I do believe an argument can be made for Flash as an offensive tool but again, with good positioning it won't be noticed in teamfights. The only real benefit I see of Flash on Braum is using it to surprise an enemy who is caught out.
Rather than using Flash, this guide utilizes Braum's natural abilities along with itemization to compensate. Defensively, the goal of the guide is to simply make Braum "unkillable". EVERY SINGLE ONE of Braum's abilities can be used to help him escape in place of Flash. As a general rundown: Q slows, W allows you to jump to safety via allies/minions, W also gives resistances (can be self cast), E negates damage (reduces all damage both melee and ranged), and Ulti provides CC which can be cast while running away (although this is rarely needed). In addition to your abilities, you will have access to 2 different shields (which stack if needed); FotM is rushed early as it shields both you and an ally making it great in trades and as a lifesaving tool, while Locket provides a shield to you and your entire team. The build itself is also heavily late game focused in itemization (other than FotM) so these shields are just icing on the cake to your already amazing tank stats. Offensively, you do lose out on using Flash to surprise the enemy team but as a frontline tank, it shouldn't be too difficult to land amazing ults (especially if you don't always just waste the ulti as soon as the fight starts). You will have to be aware of minion movement to use your W on a minion to both escape and use it as a surprise engage in place of Flash (think of Yasuo planning his E around the minion wave.
Ignite is a summoner spell used mainly for early game dominance. Taking both Ignite and Exhaust into the lane along with the early shield from FotM once you get it, makes it very hard for your enemies to effectively 2v2 in the bot lane. Exhaust is used primarily to negate the enemy ADC from dealing damage, while Ignite can be used as a follow-up to counter the enemy ADC's Heal or sustain support. The goal of this guide is to ultimately "win lane, win game" while transitioning into an unkillable frontline that can keep his entire team safe.
TL;DR: Rather than taking Flash, you use your natural abilities/defenses along with the shields from items to stay alive. You can use your W as an engage for your ult to somewhat compensate for Flash as an offensive tool. Not taking Flash is NOT RECOMMENDED FOR EVERYONE as you need to have good positioning to maximize the benefits of having Ignite instead. IF MASTERED HOWEVER, I believe not having Flash can be a viable alternative, if not a better alternative, in the right situation.
