Introduction
well, The Champions who go Mid Lane are typically one of 2 things. They are either immobile champions who scale well with levels and farm, or Assasins who need quick access to both halves of the map. An Example of the first would be
Orianna. She has very little escape tools and benefits from the short lane. She also needs solo experience and farm so she can get items as she is very mana hungry and levels for Powerhouse team fighting. as gnar, you can just flash or hop to her, stun her and get the kill by using the tons of cc you have.
The 2nd type of champion would be someone like
Zed. He also Scales with levels, but has high mobility and high burst, but low sustained damage. He doesn't go mid for the safety, he goes mid because he has easy access to both top and mid and can act as a 2nd ganker, changing the course of the other lanes. An Assasin is weaker early gets their Power Spike at Level 6 when they get their ultimate. but champions like
Gnar are not only tanky, they also had a tons of cc that counters the assassins.

The 2nd type of champion would be someone like
