Riven is a great champion to play and carry. She is a bit tricky to pick up at first but a little practice should change that. Be patient. Soon you will be the Best Riven NA (Or wherever...)

Riven is very linear and straight forward when it comes to her moves. Why many view riven as this op noob champ that is impossible to beat, she is actually quite easy to win against, unless the riven is experienced of course! Riven's sustain and poke is very poor so be careful when trading damage as she may be kited easily by champions like gnar and may lose trades with higher damage tanks such as renekton and hecarim. Poking should not be a priority for you anyway. Sitting and farming is the best thing you can do unless you know you can win trades. In situations where you cannot get off equal or better trades, your main priority should be to sit and farm and turn a gank into a kill when the time comes. When you get the chance, roaming mid is a good idea. You never know if the mid laner has tunneled and its even better if they are pushed farther in than they should be.
Top Five Tips Overall For Riven Lane Stage:
1. Farm is more important than poke
2. Don't be too greedy for farm and watch your trades
3. Be aware of your abilities and surroundings, you never know when a jungler could spring out and gank
4. Good trade times should be if you just cleared their wave and the enemy has stayed longer than should. A good E W Q combo should do some damage
5. Be conservative with pots, they are your only source of sustain unless you have lifesteal.

This is when riven really shines. In general, try for some picks! See if you can sit near the large wave of farm until their ADC strolls on by. Pop out and pick up a kill and apply some map pressure. Riven is good at taking out squishy characters (DUH). In team fights, you should be focused on penetrating that back line and slashing through their adc and mid. IF you are farmed up or fed a good E W Q R combo can destroy multiple targets and shift the team fight in your favor. Don't be scared either. Riven can pull off amazing godlike plays. You can be half health against some squishys and end up with a triple. Be confident, but not reckless. Riven's kit is outstanding and can be used for almost every aspect of the team fight.
