yes, I have used it all the time in previous seasons :) It's good if you just want to sustain lane since most matchups are not Ekko-favoured. However, my plastyle is to start with Dorans every single game as it gives me kill pressure in lane. I usually get a solo kill at level 3 on Ekko in the majority of my games, which would be a lot harder if I started corrupting potion. you won't need the healing of corrupting in most lanes if you learn to avoid any poke and just go for free cs early. I rather drop some early cs and stay full health than taking too much poke and dying/having to recall which makes me lose a lot of minions anyway.
