Introduction
This guide is still WIP and it would be great if could write down your thoughts about it in the comments!
Runes:
Runes
Greater Quintessence of Attack Damage: Always take these, you need the attack damage especially in early game, because Nidalee's base damage is pretty low.
Greater Seal of Armor: The BEST seals in the game. Also armor is pretty good on the toplane.
Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist: I prefer these ones over the flat mr glyphs because in most cases you are laning against an AD toplane and need the mr in lategame. For sure you can replace them with Greater Glyph of Magic Resist.
Greater Mark of Attack Damage: In my opinion it is a lot easier to last hit with the extra AD early game. If you don't like them, you could also go with Greater Mark of hybrid penetration.
Masteries
Always try to start with Doran's Shield Health Potion, it's a very solid start right now. Combined with the blocking masteries, this makes you very resistent against autoattakcks.
On your first back to base your goal is to pick up a Giant's Belt to get more durability, if you have some extra gold, you can pick up Boots as well. The reason for this is, that you need tankyness and the base damage of your cougar form is enough early game, so don't pick up sheen as your first item.
After you've got Giant's Belt , your next goal is a Sheen, which inceases the damage of your q in cougar form heavily.
If you are against an AD top, rush Iceborn Gauntlet next. (In some cases, if you are behind, you can also pick up Glacial Shroud before Sheen)
Against an AP top try to get Spectre's Cowl after your Giant's Belt, or Chalice of Harmony if you need sustain. Then also try to get Iceborn Gauntlet for greater dmg output and cc (slow).
Then you should either build a fast Randuin's Omen for even more presence in teamfights with the slow, or rush Spirit Visage if you need to push your heal and you are facing a fed AP or a team with more AP Champs. Then try to get the other item ( so if you already got Spirit Visage try to finish Randuin's Omen).
If you are facing a full AD team Sunfire Aegis is very strong early/mid game.
And if the enemy team heavily relies on AP dmg, try to Spirit Visage for sure and then Chalice of Harmony/ Quicksilver Sash/ Hexdrinker/ Banshee's Veil (depending on what is needed, mana reg., cc removal, Hexdrinker very effective against full AP team especially with the shield when you are low, or Banshee's against for example or ).
