Introduction
My IGN is G Virus Senpai (Diamond with 42-27 w/l) and this is my guide build, to properly play Ryze at high elo. Many people make mistakes on their builds or often skip important parts. This guide will provide you 2 Mastery builds to fully maximize Ryze's potential with maximum CDR (No overload) vs any situation or team comp.
Ryze is very fun and (easy) at start champion to learn, with only 450IP available at shop you can catapult your self up to Platinum V with ease just by learning the basics, while more advanced players can reach Diamond as well. He has no Skill shots which makes him very friendly to people who can't aim or are getting lost in teamfights.
Take notes and let's Begin

+ Monster late game champion
+ One of the best teamfight champions that can continuously deal damage with his rotations
+ Good at being Tanky while dealing a lot of damage
+ Good top laner since he is not easily counter-picked.
+ Huge power spike with only 2 items.
- Not the best splitpusher.
- Mana issues early on
- Needs practice for starters on how to keep rotation during fight.

For runes i use per scale armor and Magic Resist, If you are experienced top laner you should go with this rune page instead of having +9 armor early on. You can easily survive levels 1 through 6 by pressuring and recalling for the 2 core starting items. By level 18 you will have +27 armor from this scaling runes.

The first set of Mastery page called : Anti-tank 20% CDR is aimed to provide you full CDR cap with only 1 required item (Frozen Heart) the rest 20% will be from Masteries (10%) and Max level Q (10%). The aim of this strat build is to give you armor and sustain vs heavily AD comp.
The 2nd Mastery Page called : Anti-Mage 10% CDR is aimed to provide you full CDR cap with 2 items (Visage and Frozen Heart) while the rest 10% will come from Q. This mastery page is fully focused on sustain in lane with MR,Reg and hp. You don't have to invest in any CDR points since 40% cap will be available at full build.

Now we get to mechanical part and rotation sequence.
Ryze's passive provides 1 sec Cooldown on his skills whenever he casts a spell, similar to Ezreal's Q. This makes the core kit of ryze's damage output. There are 2 rotations you can focus on as a starting player (The most effective one as well).
Rotation 1 - The fully Rotation for teamfight. Q -> Hit -> W -> Hit - > Q -> E -> Q and repeat. You can always throw one R to further boost your rotation and provide AOE when you see the opportunity. If you are in a bad position you might not be able to land those auto's so you might have to walk 1-2 steps sacrificing those hits. Its all up to you.
Rotation 2 - The agressive grab/lock. If you see an opponent out of position or in a very bad spot which could lead in a 1 shot by your or your teammates use - R -> W- > Q -> E -> Q Flash if required to gap close.

This your ideal guidance path to get high elo if you love playing Ryze. While it is not a skillshot champion it is hard to master him and one mistake in rotation can cost you the teamfight, Ryze is considered Hypercarry and you should not underestimate him even if he doesn't have items. The key success to
