When to pick Cho'Gath

Mids that Cho is good against team fight or laning: zed, veigar, LB and katarina

Bottom laners that he is a good pick into: annie, draven, twitch, jinx, kog'maw and sona

Who counters Chogath for the majority of the game: gnar, vayne, sivir, morgana, heimerdinger, blitz, and azir

The Champions here are all hard counters one way or another I left out the rest because it isn't as significant as these champs.

PLAYSTYLE

1. Play safe:
Always depends on the game and who the other champions are, but for the most part practice not dying and good positioning. And with Chogath, one who does not have any reliable escapes. You have to be very careful, as dying can set you back by not only denying exp/gold but your stacks. It may take a few games before you get the hang of it, but it will get you so far.

2. Ganking mid/warding:
Around level 6, what I like to do is go and 1 bite the scuttle crab. Simple. It provides a free ward, an extra stack and 50 gold, along with the move speed to bring you back into lane quickly....or gank mid lane. This not only helps your team but it helps you survive. Another thing it does is it enables you to gank mid quickly. Sometimes I go mid, miss rupture, but hit my silence and my mid lane follows up and we get a kill. Other times I'll miss everything then walk back into lane, no shame. You miss all the shots you don't take. Make sure when doing this that your lane is pushed to its tower, you don't want to miss to much farm. What that does is it forces the other top laner to follow you, or lose a bunch of creeps. If they did follow you could see them with your wards/crab. Go back to lane Rengar >.<

3. When to ult:
Experience is all it takes. The best thing to do is to hold 6 stacks for as long as possible. You dont always have to hold your ult for the kill, however sometimes you just need some more damage on someone and hes in feast range just bite him, its true damage! Heck with 6 stacks you may as well walk up to mid lane bite him and leave because they usually don't have sustain.

4. Team fights:
This...is where you shine!..by this point you will have a fair amount of your build and are super tanky, along with doing a lot more damage than it seems, and providing the best forms of cc. (knock-ups cannot be stopped by quicksilver sash or cleanse) and a 2.5 second silence is no laughing matter. Especially if you hit 2 or 3 champs. As the tank, you can lead the fight and with your move speed quints, pick off people or initiate the fight with a good rupture. If you miss try again. Know that if they have alot of squishy champs it will be better to fight in the jungle, so just ward around. if they are mostly tanky, take the fight to mid lane. (more room for squishes to move around mid that's why theyre the bomb at aram). If you're under tower and your team is losing clear waves with your aoe abilities and prevent dives with them as well.

5. Attitude:
I'm sure you have heard this alot...even from rito. DONT BLAME OTHERS. It is a very competitive game and often times you will get frustrated, but just remember each of those other players all have the same goal: TO WIN. When people blame me, I feel bad and honestly don't play as well as I could. Be the better man and let it go. League inst known for its friendly players :P you're going to get someone that is going to try and bring you down.
