Threat Champion Notes

Leona When she engages you can stun her ADC and you have wayyyyy more damage than she has in the early game, so that makes her engages very weak, as her ADC is taking a lot of damage. You will probably be able to stun her a lot of times when she looks for an engage, but you are both very tanky so it takes some times for both sides to kill eachother.

Introduction

So this is my guide on how to become a brilliant Taric player! Taric is not the most popular champion on the rift, but when played correctly he is a god in terms of keeping his team alive. His ultimate is outrageous in teamfights and Bastion makes him able to cast Starlight's Touch, Dazzle and Cosmic Radiance from other champions aswell as himself. Having Taric on the team makes it safer to engage teamfights and his stunning looks is not to be forgotten!

I'm a low diamond player who plays League of Legends for fun. I peaked in solo queue at diamond 3. I have recently changed my name to "Taric Support" and were earlier called "Lukkebeast". In S6 i hit challenger in Flex queue which is my greatest achievement in League of Legends so far!

I play a lot of games but not all are as great as i want them to be. I strive to get better at playing support and improving my skills every game. Not two games are alike and that's what I think is awesome. Every game you have to adapt your play-style and itemisation to which champions you are playing against.

Taric is my main champion and i really enjoy playing him. He is a champion that has a lot of influcence on the other players' performance in the game, which I think is amazing beacuse i like the teamwork in League of Legends. Taric can peel, heal and shield for days and yet he is also tanky as hell, and that is why he is my favorite champion. In ranked matches I have played a total of 80 games with Taric in season 7. I have won 51 and lost 29 which leaves me at a 63.8% winrate. But I have also played a huge amount of normal games, which you can tell by the fact that i have reached a mastery score of 285k on Taric alone. Taric is one of the four I have upgraded to mastery lvl. 7. Mastery lvl. 7 is of course only meant to be used when showing off ;)

The picture below shows my recent winning spree with Taric. He's a stunningly good-looking man, but he is also quite effective when it comes to winning games.

Masteries

The peeling Taric loves heals and shields which is why Windspeaker's Blessing is the best choice of keystone for him. This makes your healing and shielding even more effective than before. The choice of 0/18/12 is based on the fact that Bandit , Runic Armor and Insight are all very great masteries that fit Taric very well. This choice of masteries gives him both a bit of tankiness but also the utility from the CUNNING category.

Runes

These runes are very effective in the early game. Taric needs tanky stats in the early game to succesfully make some engages in lane. These runes help him stay alive and there is no need for anything else than tanky stats on a guy like Taric. I have chosen 9x Greater Seal of Health, 9x Greater Mark of Armor, 9x Greater Glyph of Magic Resist and 3x Greater Quintessence of Armor because it gives good flat stats. I value flat stats over scaling stats with Taric, as he gets many tank items which is enough for the late game, which means that scaling stats are less important than flat stats. Taric values Armor A LOT, because of Bastion's armor scaling, and that is why we have both Greater Mark of Armor and Greater Quintessence of Armor.

Items

-OR-

Ninja Tabi > ARMOR
Ninja Tabi is good against AD, as they give you armor and they reduce incoming damage from auto attacks by 10%, which is quite neat when facing an ADC who relies on attack speed or just ADCs in general.

Mercury's Treads > TENACITY & MAGIC RESIST
Taric mainly buys armor and is a tanky dude, but everyone gets caught at some point, and that's where it's nice to have tenacity, which Mercury's Treads provides. The magic resist you gain from them is also nice when facing AP champions like Syndra.

Ruby sightstone
Ruby Sightstone is crucial to the development of the game, because without Stealth Wards you are very vulnerable to incoming ganks, and as Taric himself says "Just in case". Therefore you need a Sightstone, and I recommend that you only start off with buying Sightstone and then as the game progresses you can buy Ruby Sightstone, when you can afford it without lacking too much behind.

Face of the Mountain
This item is one of your must haves. You start off with buying your Relic Shield as one of your start items, and then you upgrade it to Targon's Brace which you should upgrade into Face of the Mountain as soon as possible. Face of the Mountainis a great item. It's quest gives you a passive shield when you reach 650 gold with your item, whether it is Relic Shield, Targon's Brace or Face of the Mountain. You should fully upgrade it as soon as possible but always aim for an early Sightstone, as the Stealth Wards are more important in the early game. The shield this item gives you is quite strong and helps you with keeping your ADC, or whomever you are protecting, alive. The gold sharing passive "Spoils of War" also makes it easier in lane. It gives you the opportunity to share gold in lane and it is great for early game income.
Oracle Alteration
This item is what you are looking to get when you hit lvl 9. It is an upgraded Sweeping Lens.

You will want to max Dazzle first, as it gives buffs your stun duration with 0.125 seconds per rank. Rank 1: 1 second. Rank 5: 1.5 seconds. If you play against a lane with a lot of poke you can mix your Q and W maxing as it gives you the opportunity to skill what is needed. Max Starlight's Touch seconds as it gives you more healing stacks the more you upgrade it. Max Bastion last. It's binding effect with an ally is nice, but the shield is not that important.
