Champion Build Guide
PROS
- Very fun champion
- Easy to pick up
- Great ganks at level 6 and up
- Strong snowballing
- Healthy and relatively decent jungle clear
- Strong fighter
- Overall well-rounded champion
CONS
- Needs to stay in attack range to make the most of his DPS
- Has trouble ganking before level 6, however still a great fighter
- Only gap closers are the movement speed from his Q and the dash from his R, meaning that after he uses his ultimate, it becomes relatively difficult to fight ranged champions (particularly those with heavy CC)
- Great against non-squishy comps
- Currently the preferred build for Nocturne
- Incredible teamfight potential
- Incredible snowball potential
Assassins:
- Great against squishy comps
- Not very meta, however in my opinion much more fun to play
- My personal favorite way to say "**** you ADCs, hehehehe"
- Great assassination potential
- Feels great when you dive into 3 enemies with your ultimate, kill the ADC instantly, and then run away using Duskblade
... In case you forgot the standard clear is Red/Blue -> Krugs/Gromp -> Raptors/Wolves -> Wolves/Raptors -> Blue/Red -> Gromp/Krugs -> Scuttle.
After your clear, look for a gank, counter-gank, or invade.
After reaching level 6, you can pull off easy ganks and try to pick off as many victims to your powerful dueling potential whenever possible. In most cases when your ultimate is on cooldown, you'll want to farm, with the occasional invade when possible.
During the late game, Nocturne aims to pick off enemies with his ultimate, and help his teammates win teamfights or skirmishes. In major teamfights, you'll want to backline the enemy with your ultimate and kill any squishies, and then help participate in killing the tanks and bruisers. Of course, you still want to clear and invade when possible.
Maw of Malmortius: Simple Anti-AP legendary for Nocturne.
Guardian Angel: Nocturne benefits a lot from Guardian Angel, even more so when you are fed. I would suggest building this item almost every game, as the essentially extra life is incredibly useful. Make sure to use your stopwatch before upgrading into GA.
Sterak's Gage: With the new changes to Sterak's Gage, Nocturne is able to take advantage of the bonus attack and extra sustain when needed. Great item for when you need the anti-burst shield (usually against assassins).
Chempunk Chainsword: Take against heal-heavy comps.
Serpent's Fang: Anti-shield legendary.
Wit's End: Another magic resist legendary for versing AP heavy comps.
Edge of Night - Anti-burst / extra sustain legendary
Serpent's Fang - Anti-shield legendary
Chempunk Chainsword - Anti-healing
Maw of Malmortius - Versus AP
Death's Dance - Versus AD / General Sustain
Guardian Angel - Similarly to Nocturne's Bruiser build, Guardian Angel is a very useful item that I would recommend building whenever possible in your build. Exceptions may be made if the enemy has little to no AD or if you aren't fed enough to desire the extra life.
Go out there and bully people with Nocturne, and laugh as they yell "fair champ" in all chat.
oh yeah fyi I don't actually have Nocturne I just played him like 7 times since he was on the free to play rotation and then read 6 guides and decided to make this on a whim
