Hello, I'm Smolnom and this will be a quick, straight to the point guide. I am a Diamond player and I have been playing League since season 2. Until season 6 I was mostly a casual player and in season 7 I took League a bit more seriously and started to grind the ladder. This guide is mostly for people who plan to get in higher elo in season 8.

Camille is one of those champions, who has everything from good engage and sustain to high damage and CC. In fact, her dash is the longest in the game and her ultimate has the longest duration for preventing the target from escaping. Yet, she is not popular and most people fail with her. Even if you follow everything in this guide your win rate won’t immediately improve. Camille is not meta champion and she requires a lot of practice to master. She is similar to all those champions that you need to invest time in them to become a better player. After about 20 games you should get used to her and you should notice a huge difference in the way you play her.

Your main priority is farming minions whenever you can try to take them even if you have to use Tactical Sweep and push the lane. When you see that you won’t last hit minions in the next few seconds trade some hits with the enemy champion. That’s what everyone does and how the game is, but with Kleptomancy your goal is not to kill them, of course if you can then do it, but otherwise you use them to make as much gold as possible. Camille early is quite weak when your main rune tree is Inspiration. Most of the time you will lose the trades, so try to be as quick as possible. Try to use Precision Protocol on them it will proc Kleptomancy use Hookshot to the wall and bump into them. They will be knocked up for a brief moment and you will gain a burst of attack speed so you can AA them and then recast Precision Protocol. Also, your 2nd Precision Protocol will be ready to deal true damage even if it’s not, that’s not the important part early game the damage is quite low anyway. Your main goal is to proc the Kleptomancy. Don’t forget that your Precision Protocol is an empowered AA, which means that it will always reset your normal AA, regardless of the attack speed. At the end, use Tactical Sweep if they are close to you AA them and run if you hit them with the outer half of the Tactical Sweep you will heal a bit and they will be too slowed to catch up you. That’s what you should do with Kleptomancy on lane. Out of the lane and especially when you don’t have an open item slot, you won’t realise it but Kleptomancy will give you a lot different bonuses. Your main combo procs Kleptomancy 5 times and in the best possible outcome you will get 5 potions which obviously will make you stronger.

You won’t build any of the items that require the Stopwatch it is just to sell it for 120 gold and also to save yourself once. Both of these are quite important 120 gold may not look like a lot it just equals 6 minions. But that is a whole full wave of minions and if you save yourself with the Stopwatch once you won’t lose time re-spawning and your enemy won’t get 300 gold.

Cosmic Insight is against champions with who you can have fair trades, champions that you can outplay. The 5% cooldown reduction on everything is quite powerful.

Celestial Body is for when you are facing a tank. Losing 10% damage for the first 10 minutes against champions is a lot. Most likely, you will never be able to kill them because your damage will be quite low. In our case that is a good thing. Tanks also don’t deal that much damage and you will be able to proc Kleptomancy more often because they will not see you as a threat.

Check THREATS TO CAMILLE WITH THIS BUILD. The best choice for the champions that counter Camille with Kleptomancy is Resolve with Inspiration. You get a lot of sustain to deal with the burst and also to endure poke. Aftershock only procs if you hit with Hookshot, so try to land it. With this rune build you still need Inspiration, as a second tree with Magical Footwear and Perfect Timing for getting more gold.

Trinity Force is the best item for Camille and it should always be the first item you build (try to buy it in 10 minutes). The spellblade passive procs on both attacks of Precision Protocol and it also doubles your true damage.
|
|
|
|
Mercury's Treads or Ninja Tabi should be your 2nd core item. Mercury's Treads is better than Ninja Tabi when you are facing an ability power based champion on top lane or when you are against a tank on top or when the enemy team deals a lot of ability power damage or they have strong CC.
|

|
Buying Sterak's Gage, as a 3rd core item is very important for Kleptomancy Camille. The 450 bonus health and the shield you get from it is a required sustain for a front-line champion and your true damage on your 2nd Q will be increased with about 150. Kleptomancy will allow you to have Sterak's Gage in about 20 minutes.

|
|
Ravenous Hydra is a very good 4th or 5th core item. If you are fed buy it as a 4th item, if not you can buy Tiamat build 1 tanky item and then upgrade it. If you are facing full ad team you can also buy Ravenous Hydra, as a 4th item because the armor from Ninja Tabi and Conditioning should be enough to keep you alive.
|
|
|
|
Spirit Visage is your main MR item. If the enemy team has a mix of AD and AP Spirit Visage combined with Ninja Tabi and Conditioning will give you enough sustain to start the engage and hold your position for enough time, until your team catches up to you. Also, the passive has a good synergy with Ravenous Hydra.
|
|
|
|
Abyssal Mask is actually quite useful on Camille if your team can benefit from it. If your team deals a lot of AP damage building Abyssal Mask will increase this damage by 10% almost all the time. The aura of the passive is quite low (about 350), but since your Hextech Ultimatum locks the target in one place the enemy will be affected.

|
Adaptive Helm is not a popular item because the passive will not be useful for the majority of champions. Although, it is particularly useful against Cassiopeia or Swain.

Early Game
The whole idea of this build is to get to your 2nd power spike as soon as possible. The first one is buying
Trinity Force and the second one is buying
Sterak's Gage. The first 15 minutes are the most important part for
Camille. If you fall behind early it will be quite hard to catch up, especially if your team is losing.
Prioritise farming and getting gold from
Kleptomancy the first 10 minutes of the game. Always start the game with
Doran's Shield, the sustain you will have from it combined with your runes will be much bigger than your opponents and you should use this as an advantage to not lose farm and proc
Kleptomancy. As you won't have any starting bonus AD or AS most likely your opponents will have bigger damage. That's why you should not prolong the trades, once your abilities are on cooldown back and wait to heal up. Don't use
Tactical Sweep to poke because the damage will be small and you will run out of mana soon, instead use it to either heal or slow. When you hit level 6 after the wave try to gank mid. If you manage to lock the enemy you should be able to kill them with your mid laner.
If you have
Celestial Body build first
Phage Before
Sheen. If you don’t have
Celestial Body build first
Sheen and then
Phage it’s important
Stinger is always last. If you don’t fail a lot in lane you should expect to have
Trinity Force in 10 to 12 minutes
After 10 minutes
At this point if you have
Trinity Force you will be a threat for the enemy team. If you are still on lane and your turret is not destroyed try to use your 2nd
Precision Protocol on the enemy champion as much as you can, as it will deal about 250 true damage. For example, use it first on minions and after 1.5 seconds dash to the enemy champion and cast it on them, then back with
Tactical Sweep. Also, try to force a trade when your passive is up, as it will compensate for a big portion of the damage.
When you get out of the lane split pushing is better than fighting with your team. You might get more gold from a few kills/assists than minions but farming is much more safer and secure, as you have
Hookshot to easily escape if they gank you.
After you get your 3rd core item -
Sterak's Gage it is better to do team fights than splitting. You will be quite tanky for a champion with only 3 core items and also your true damage will deal about 1/3 of the ADC's HP. So, try to engage and force fights.
Late game
Camille is one of the strongest champions in the game. You should have about 3k+ HP with 100+ AR and MR combined with 800+ true damage and your
Hextech Ultimatum can lock the target for 4 seconds.
If you are a new
Camille player you will feel quite useless and maybe you will lose a lot of games. But if you invest time in learning
Camille it will be worth it. And the best thing about her is that unlike other champions that require a lot of experience to master,
Camille isn’t that popular so more people won’t know how to counter you. Also,
Camille won’t get any nerfs in the near future. If nothing else she might get buffed and it is the best feeling when see your main champion getting buffed.
Thank you for reading! Hopefully, this guide helped you understand
Camille a bit more and if it did hit the upvote button.
