Taric can really be abused with Aery poke and trading, dont let him auto minions without punishment
Bard
You win every trade he can do with your Q heal and you can always silence if you see a portal opening directly to you
Braum
Braum cant do much, you can very easily 2v2 them and sustain. maybe rush Mikael's for his stun, and you'll outscale him.
Janna
Hitting Q's will guarantee a winning lane, however she might start roaming so keep that in mind.
Sona
Poke as much as you can level 1, you will most likely always win the trade and make Sona waste her mana on W after. I suggest Oblivion Orb
Amumu
You can poke him out well, try to make him waste Q and be ready to E him when he goes in after 6 to delay and even blunder his all in
Brand
You can outheal his poke, but you must be careful for his all ins, that the only way he'll kill you. Expect oblivion orb early from him.
Lulu
You can very easily win trades IF you hit Q. If you dont she wins by poking you
Renata Glasc
Poke her with Q and try to dodge hers, or try to make her do it in minions. Rush Mikael's for her R and always be behind your ADC to cleanse them.
Zyra
You can poke her out easily until level 3, and be careful with level 6 all ins and ignite.
Karma
She can very easily outpoke you. play passive until she initiates any trading and hit the Q's.
Lux
You really need to hit the Q's in this matchup, as Lux can poke really hard. I suggest going barrier to live her burst and going second wind.
Nami
She has amazing poke and you might not be able to outheal it, so play around E or Q cd's and try to get free poke with Q to outsustain.
Pyke
Pyke isnt that bad compared to other Hooks. Poke him level 1 and counters his R with yours. You can silence his hook too. Just play safe till Moonstone and you can outscale.
Rell
Poke her safely level 1 and be prepared to E her victim's feet. She's a worse Alistar
Senna
She outpoke you good. It comes down to sustain with Q and get Moonstone. Try not to fall behind and you'll be fine.
Seraphine
Hit those Q's, she has good poke potential. Watch out for level 6 and maybe go Barrier for R engages.
Swain
Dont get hit by his E and poke him out. Go with Ignite and get Chemtech if u fall behind.
Thresh
Poke the **** out of him if at level 1 you see his Flay glow, that means he went E first. hit the Q's. Ward bushes for him and his cheeky hook.
Vel'Koz
He's a worse Xerath in my opinion. just do as what it says on Xerath.
Yuumi
Got help you if Yuumi pairs with a Vayne. Anyways you really need to hit those Q's, she will always outheal and outpoke you if you dont. Rush Chemtech and go Ignite.
Zilean
Dont over extend ever, Zilean can heavily punish you with E and double Q. Try to get free Q's off and careful with his R.
Alistar
Abuse level 1 poke and after 2 play defensive. If you see him get close to an ally or yourself, put E on their feet so Alistar cant W-Q combo.
Blitzcrank
Coinflip. He hits, you die. It's a Nautilus case, however even if you outscale, one hook can determine fights. Get Moonstone quick.
Leona
Yet another "survive lane" champ. Poke her level 1 and survive until Moonstone. Hit your Q's and expect all ins into your ADC.
Nautilus
Survive until you get Moonstone. The only thing you can do is leave laning phase with as little issues as possible and outscale him. He's scary even at level 1.
Rakan
Always be ready to E him and hit those Q's. always be careful, especially if he has Glacial.
Xerath
You will need to Q his ADC, because if he's smart you'll never get one off him. Second Wind for sure. He might focus you, be ready for it
Vayne
Very weak when it comes to laning, you'll need to protect her until she starts scaling. Once that happens, both of you can pretty much 2v8. Get Mikael's to help her.
Twitch
Twitch only enjoys Lulu or Yuumi. You're not bad, but there's way better fish in the sea.
Jhin
Soraka doesn't shine with Jhin. The healing iis great and all, but for Jhin she doesn't offer anything else. You could go Shurelya's and Ardent to serve a purpose, he loves MS and AS.
Sivir
You can poke quite well, and your healing can help her alot during fights.
Seraphine
Double Enchanter botlane is really strong, and with Seraphine you are unkillable. play for small trades and you win lane.
Ezreal
Ezreal likes extended fights, making your moonstone stronger. You two can chill in lane until first item and slowly take over the game.
Nilah
Nilah Passive and healing abilities makes her a monster, and you can make her even more of a monster. After 6 you two can star getting picks in 2v2's and go into mid game with a good lead.
Ashe
Ashe really likes Soraka, as Ashe only needs to stay alive and shred healthbars. Play for Poke and get her to two items.
Samira
You provide nothing for her, better off playing Renata or any other engage champion.
Heimerdinger
Good poke lane with a clear motive to scale. Play safe and keep him healthy. Get some items and victory (normally)
Karthus
Karthus wants to snowball, so he needs CC champions, you're not one of them.
Kog'Maw
He is just like Twitch. You're not bad, but there's such better picks.
Miss Fortune
Miss Fortune can pull her own weight as long as you keep her alive. Poke and keep her healthy, once she reaches one item, you can easily 2v2 and 2v3.
Veigar
Boring lane, nothing special until he gets Luden's, so sit back and keep him healthy with W.
Draven
It's okay, Draven could have a better support, he really likes Engage. Try to get him ahead as soon as you can. Ignite, Aery, anything to make him shine.
Kalista
She wants a Tanky or at least a CC champion, you're not fit for the job. Just hope your heals are enough.
Zeri
Soraka is amazing with Zeri, you both have amazing 2v2 potential after 1 item, and amazing scaling. Keep her safe and you'll be rewarded.
Kai'Sa
Keep her safe and let you both scale up to 1-2 items to take over the game.
Lucian
With champions like Nami or Braum, Soraka doesn't provide as much as others can. Be sure to heal him everytime u use Q for his passive and let him get 2 items. Try to get kills early too.
Caitlyn
The best poke join the best sustain. If she gets a target on a trap, try to be fast with your E to root them. It's a boring lane but effective too.
Varus
Varus loves being able to proc with blights, but he needs to be alive. You're the best option, keep him safe until 1-2 items and protect it well to get a win.
Xayah
There's no legitimate reason to go Soraka with a Xayah, Rakan or any other CC champion is the play. However if you do happen to make this exist, make it so Xayah goes Aery poke, or laning will be hell.
Jinx
You both make laning a bit hard, but playing safe will alow to have a good transition into midgame where both start shining after 1-2 items. Combo your E with her W for easy Roots.
Tristana
Tristana likes more heavy CC champions that can engage. Try to get picks early to make Tristana fed and make your transition to midgame spike her hard with your heals.
Ziggs
Combine Zigg's poke with Soraka's sustain to make laning phase a little boring, but very safe. This will allow u both scale and become beasts into mid-late game.

+ Easy to Learn + Good Laning + Amazing Healing Capabilities + Cheap Items + Still useful when Behind
CONS
- Immobile - Squishy - Can have Mana problems - Early poke Health problems from Astral Infusion
As said above, Soraka is a fairly easy Champion to learn, being valuable when behind. She has the best healing potential from all the Enchanters.
However, Soraka is still an Enchanter Mage, so she's Squishy and Immobile. Fighting versus a high poke lane ( Caitlyn and Xerath as an example) you might have some health problems with overusing Astral Infusion

Summoner Spells
SUMMONER SPELLS -
FLASH: This is a self explanatory spell but I'll say it anyway. Flash allows gives you a blink that can dodge abilities and jump through terrain.
IGNITE: Ignite is an excellent spell in many ways. It grants kill potential in lane with it's true damage and also has Grevious Wounds, a 60% healing reduction debuff.
EXHAUST: The Exhaust is an amazing anti-carry tool. It gives the affected champion a 30% slow and a 40% reduction of their damage numbers. Very good to turn back early trades in early lane.
Runes
RESOLVE
Guardian are by far Soraka's favorite Keystone, giving her and her guarded ally a shield when they take damage from champions or lethal damage from turrets and monsters.
This is an amazing early trading rune and let's you be safer in lane with it's life saving possibilities.
Font of Life works well with Soraka as her Q, Starcall can proc it. When you impair someone movement via Slows or CC, Font of Life procs, healing 5 (+ 1% of your maximum health) over 1.75 seconds when an ally hits the impaired champion.
Bone Plating is the best tool you have versus a trade heavy laning, as when it procs, the 3 next abilty or attacks do less damage to you.
If the enemy laners are more poke heavy, switch off Bone Plating for Second Wind, making it so you regenerate 6 (+ 4% of your missing health) health when hit by a champion.
For last you always go Revitalize. This shard grants you 5% Heal and shield power, plus a 10% boost to healing and shield to yourself or any ally who is bellow 40% of their max health.
Manaflow Band
Manaflow Band is an amazing early game tool, making it so everytime you hit a champion with an ability your mana bar increase by 25, up to 250 bonus mana. When the maximum bonus mana is achieved, your mana bar will start permanently restore itself every 5 seconds.
Transcendence
Transcendence is a good early to mid game rune for Soraka, due to it giving permanent ability haste at levels 5 and 10. At level 11, any takedowns on enemy champions will reduce the current cooldown on basic abilities by 20%.

WHEN TO PICK
ARDENT CENSER
VS
STAFF FLOWING WATER
If your team composition has alot of ATTACK DAMAGE and On-Hit Champions, Ardent Censer will be the best choice. If you manage to get your ADC fed, be sure you buy this item to extend the lead.
If the team's current composition is mainly ABILITY POWER or MIXED then the best option is Staff of Flowing Water because the benefits Ability Haste has on all champions is much greater than the Attack Speed Ardent Censer gives to everyone.
