This is my first build guide, but I main Taric and i have seen so many people play him wrong. The general builds I see on him are either all armor, or a lot of ability power mixed with some armor. The merits of the ability power mixed with armor are your imbue will heal more and your dazzle will do more damage, however, it is not nearly worth it. The reason you mix armor and IBG's is because of Gemcraft. With Taric's abilities you want to weave in auto attacks like you do with Riven. His passive is basically sheen that scales off of armor. Taric is great at counter engaging. If the enemy lane trys to go in on your adc, stun him get your gemcraft off, shatter gemcraft, and then heal your add and gemcraft. this will do a lot more damage to the adc than the adc's are use to from a support allowing your adc to finish them also. Additionally if the enemy adc and support are trying to chase down your adc DO NOT RUN. If they are far enough away start hammering their adc, and heal your adc whenever you can. Most times they will ignore you and lose most of their health, and if they don't ignore you WHO CARES, you are Taric. So try this build out and let me know, Taric is a great underrated champion, just give him a couple of games and you'll love him :)
