The guide has been updated. The pros/cons are updated, the Ruby Sightstone and the Mikael's Blessing has been added.

Ruby Sightstone is MANDATORY. As a support, money is precious. This item gives you hp + free wards.

Your pros and cons ARE very badly done. It's almost as if you've given them no thought at all. Taric is almost pure utility. The damage he deals is minimal, but his stuns are reliable and his sustaining power is incredible. Extremely mana hungry if you're not careful and short range, already mentioned. 14-10 second CD on Dazzle is enormous until you get CDR. Extremely slow champion without items (and then, what items do you really take that increase MS?).

Your support items themselves are actually minimal... No gp10 items? Your choices are... strange, to say the least.

I wouldn't say Randuin's Omen is even a core item on Taric.

Abyssal Mask is a decent choice. So is Spirit Visage. That's about it.

Warmog's Armor...? Rylai's Crystal Scepter is even a consideration? :S Shatter and Radiance can only provide 15% slow, which isn't very much. Dazzle is a stun, which doesn't need a slow. Randuin's Omen is expensive enough as it is, you want to get two more 3K+ gold items with no GP10 items/Masteries? Yeah, good luck with that.

Sunfire Aegis is pointless on a support that stacks so much armor anyway and doesn't provide much for the team. Why would you get Quicksilver Sash when Mikael's Blessing exists? Banshee's Veil is ok, I guess.

Clairvoyance is a viable summoner spell. Contrary to your (extremely false) belief that you'll always have wards everywhere, you'll find that since you don't even want to consider Sightstone and that you won't always have money for wards, or necessarily the time to put it down, nor can you cover the entire map, nor are you necessarily in the right area to put a ward in the necessary place, Clairvoyance is a highly viable spell to take. Especially since the S3 buff.

Ignite is also technically viable on a support to counter high-regen or healing champs. It's just 'not-as-good' as Exhaust or Clairvoyance. The only real risk is that you KS, but a kill is still better than no kill at all.

I don't understand how this guide is getting so many upvotes.

I didn't have much chance to try the Ruby Sightstone that much yet, thanks to my exams. But I will test it out by being focused on what would the pros/cons of it for me.

Pros and cons... Yet again, I have to be keen on them, I didn't have much time while writing this guide.

Supporting, according to me, means to protect the enemy by any means. Taric is a tanky support, so I prefer to use his tanky potential to make him a big, kind of unbeatable potato. Thanks to that "protection" I provide, my AD Carrier farms safely and collects the kills. This is how I manage to get the Randuin's Omen in the first place, and believe me, I do it most of the time.

If you have noticed, I wrote for the Warmog's Armor to not to be bought "if the jungler and the top laner are not tanky enough", I mean that the Warmog's Armor is also not necessary for me too, except some conditions. Likewise goes for the Rylai's Crystal Scepter.

I've also spoken about how unnecessary the Sunfire Aegis is. It's like, really extra.

I took Quicksilver Sash as an emergency situation item, which the Summoner can put on at the mid or the late game, for if the enemy way too much CC and "if they are using them effectively".

Due to the lack of time, I wasn't able to test out the Mikael's Blessing yet. But according to its explanations, it makes sense to me that you've told it to me about it. I will test it out, and I will most likely add it.

I did not mean that I will ward "everywhere" of course. When possible, I do it of course - if you remember, I've told at the guide that I've bought 12 sight wards and placed them at once, which worked way too good for the benefit of the team. What I've wanted to mean was that you'll have enough money to ward the necessary places, "if you do your protection job properly". This is why "I" don't prefer Clairvoyance that much.

Ignite... you're right about the health regen reduction effect that it causes, but still, it's a spell that an AD/AP Carrier would use after damaging the enemy a bit, to guarantee that the enemy unit will be killed.

As you've noticed, my way of playing support is a bit different, my item choices and how I try to protect my team members make it obvious. Since that there are a lot of things that are not both considered as the "essential right" or as the "essential mistake" in LoL, my guide, I think, shall not be considered as "completely correct" or "completely false". After all, humans differ from each other from their way of thinking and ideologies.

But of course, whenever you people warn me about a possible "essential mistake" that I've done in my guide, I'd try to fix them ASAP.

No Ruby Sightstone means instant -1, no room for argument. I'm surprised none of the others noticed that. And you can get all those utility stats with 21 points, overdipping in utility doesn't really cut it anymore in S3. You'd be better off with 9 in defense - or even 9 in offense.

A few things:

1. Masteries - I don't think 29 utility is good. The rest of the community agrees with me.

2. Can't help but notice pros and cons VERY BADLY done. Taric's other cons include being mana hungry if he has to heal a lot, and extremely short range.

3. Where the hell is your Ruby Sightstone?

1-) Might be. But since that Taric will become tanky due to the items we're going to buy, I've considered paying the 29 points to gold per sec./mana regen/CDR and else.

2-) Thank you for reminding me about those facts, but you didn't have to mention them in a "VERY BADLY" way.

3.1-) What the "hell"?

3.2-) Ruby Sightstone... I didn't really have a necessity to use them, since that they block a space on the inventory, which... means one space less for tank items and more than 5 wards at once.

4-) By means of criticism, I had meant it to be done politely and positively, for your information.

Really nice guide with alot of in-depth etc. Im not a support player but it was a good guide since i now "understand" more of tarics features and fysiks. One thing i think is missing is a section about your thoughts about other runes and masteries, with this i mean that you could talk about other runes and masteries that also could be viable and others that isn't! (:

But a really awesome guide and +1 for you sir. I hope you got some good critisism from me! (:

Thank you sir, for your kind comments :)

I didn't go into to the details that much at the "Runes" part, since that I thought that it would have been better to talk about the runes that'll be the most needed. It's the likewise for the Masteries, too :)

I thought that players would also test things out by getting influenced from my guide. After all, you know, the most important part of learning comes from applying and testing things. :) (Besides, I didn't have that much time, too, for being a busy student :P)
