Introduction
I've been playing League since my friends introduced it to me back in early S2 and have always been a bruiser type player. I main jg, and have played most of the tankier, CC focused junglers like J4, Amumu, Shyvana, and more recently Diana although she is neither tanky, nor CC focused - she's just a menace.
Anyway, I saw the new Galio rework and was really interested. I played him mid for some time back in S3 and always thought he didn't really fit a role and needed some reworking. Riot has reworked him and positioned him more for Supp/Top, however, I've played him jungle for a few games and I'd like to share what I've found works.
This is my first ever guide, so if you've got any comments on how to improve, I'm open to criticism!
Also, please check the item/skill/runes notes!!! I've avoided writing separate sections in order to make this guide easier to use.
Galio is quite mana hungry early on as he relies on his Q/E in jungle, so here's a simpler jg sequence:
Start blue -> red -> raptors (Q+E+passive kills all the little ones) -> krugs (same combo as raptors) -> wolves (same combo) -> gromp
In general, when engaging a group of jungle monsters, always Q and immediately line up your E through the middle. Let your passive then take out the little ones and focus the big monster (Q again once its up and let the damage over time help you out).

Your Q is your main spell. It's pretty versatile, as it can serve as a barrier (the lasting vortex does damage over time and enemies usually don't want to cross through it) but in general it just does boatloads of damage.
When you Q, try as much as possible to line it up so the enemy falls within the convergence of the two paths/the vortex. This will maximize your damage. It takes some practice to get it right, but I have faith in you!
Your E is pretty annoying for the other team. It's got a low cooldown, and allows for some great knock-ups. Riot has made sure it's not OP by making it so you can't cross through barriers - so keep that in mind! This also means that if your shoulder grazes a wall, you'll stop. However, it goes straight through minions, and will only stop when colliding with a champion or a wall.
Galio's W is super useful when trying to tank an enemy's ult, but even more so when you quickly double cast for the taunt. Galio's taunt works more like a stun tbh, as it keeps the enemy in one spot. Super useful if you're waiting for that extra second so your team can follow up!
Galio's R is great. It's like Pantheon's ulti with a little less damage but a lot more punch. When you ulti to the selected champion, the entire radius takes reduced damage, and any enemies within the radius when you land will take damage and be knocked up, afterwhich you're free to E and knock them up again. It's a lot of fun when you land the combo right. But be careful! It has a long cast time so only do it if you're sure you can catch some enemies before they run away.

Galio can work well with any team, but your ulti is especially effective with champs that have a group CC to keep everyone together. Champs like Malphite, J4, Yasuo, Veigar, Miss Fortune, Gangplank, and any other champ that can help concentrate enemies in one area or keep them from dispersing.
You can generally gank quite well with your E. It works best if you throw in a Q and line up your E immediately. You can use the same combo as jungle pretty much everywhere, lol.
If you're going to ulti for a gank, make sure your teammate knows the charge time for your ulti and that they can keep the enemy within your ulti radius until you land. Otherwise, it's kind of a waste.
If you ulti, make sure to immediately E to whichever enemy you choose for the double knock-up, and then passive and Q.
