Background

Although birthed to poor gypsy parents, the champion known as Twisted Fate was able to gamble his way to prosperity as a card shark in the seedy underground gambling circuit of Demacia. No matter how close the authorities came to catching Twisted Fate, the rogue always found a way to slip through their fingers. Despite his good fortune, he was never able to win that which he truly desired: the ability to control magic. When Twisted Fate learned of an experiment being conducted in Zaun that might help him with his wish, he did the only thing a gambler of his worth could do: he went all in and volunteered for the experiment. When it seemed to catastrophically fail, however, Twisted Fate flew into a rage. While on the verge of killing the scientists, he suddenly teleported himself miles away. With a sly grin, he realized his luck had won out yet again. He now brings his luck to the Institute of War. ''While the future may be mysterious and unknown to most, Twisted Fate is certain that his future lies within the cards.''

Introduction

Hello everyone my name is Johnny and I'm an avid TF player i used to play AD with mediocre success, primarily since since the range in a AD build is so short for his auto attack it seems every kill you get you have to put yourself in immediate danger.

Now i have found success in AP TF (23-1-3) As many said before he is too nerfed to play he's UP or his ratio's are S***.. etc i think not, but some slight buffs would be appreciated since he doesn't have his global anymore... just saying.

I would like to share some my success with you all so more people can play TF at a greater level. and well more so to back up my build to show it can work, and by work i mean work very well.

Comments and Ratings are greatly appreciated and encouraged.

Runes & Masteries, Summoners Spells

I believe the standard 9-0-21 utility build works very well with with

AP PER LEVEL Quints and Glyphs
HP PER LEVEL Seals
MAGIC PENETRATION Marks

Getting that magic pen in attack tree is crucial and the in utility is too since TF is soooo slow it's a good idea to max , and he has really no escape mechanic without , , etc. don't bother wasting a that takes 4 some odd seconds to channel and can easily be interrupted; I'm just saying to NOT be reckless and hope to teleport out every time.

viable spells

useless spells

all in all pick which ones suit you. i prefer the flash & ignite combo.

Items

Mejai's Soulstealer!!! if you expect to play TF then you expect to get kills or assists. its as simple as that. so don't play reckless. look before you leap with Destiny. Sorcerer's Shoes are a given. magic pen. simple enough. Now Rabadon's Deathcap gives your WC sooo much more punch and allows you to get kills without being in danger of being killed. Lich Bane is what really helps you movement speed magic resist ap and a killer passive. it makes my day. :) Nashor's Tooth and Guinsoo's Rageblade are the fifth and sixth items respectively you want to end the build with also some Elixir of Brilliance and Elixir of Agility and Elixir of Fortitude maybe a Oracle's Elixir if you ever need them, i doubt the game will last that long...

now to touch up on the last two items i have been working on some different pairs of items and in theory it works although i have yet to build it. i personally built Guinsoo's Rageblade last. but i'm deciding on wether or not to change it. i as even thinking about changing the 5th item to Zhonya's Hourglass comments? ideas? thanks.

Skilling Order & Abilities

Prioritize wild cards! well after lv 2. then after WC, PaC,and then Stacked deck. Wild Cards is your main dmg output but it comes at a high price of mana (which can be solved) but for never being in harms way with ridiculous range i see no reason to not utilize this skill like in ad/as builds of TF. PaC (pick a card) is an amazing ability allows for lane sustainability so you can harass with WC consistently (so naturally get a point in this early), the gold card causes a stun CC so you and allies can get that First Blood you guys ever so deserve, and red card is a slow AoE dmg just a good spell (i prefer the blue or yellow) his third skill is very nice add on to give 15% cd reduction and 15% ASPD is just swell. Don't forget about the very nice amount of damage every 4th auto attack.

Quick look

A very good passive, if your team knows how to farm. other then that still good (except when your dead now.. remember that)

good ol' WC oh how everyone either loves you or hates you. AP TF users will love this ability. and some hybrids too. its just too good of an ability to be abused by dps builds and be completely disregarded... in my opinion.

PaC is an amazing ability allows for lane sustainability with the mana regen. and CC with gold card and AoE damage with red card. This is hands down the most crucial ability to TF because of its versatility

Great set of passive abilities 15% CD Reduction, 15% ASPD increase, and every 4th hit does a ridiculous amount of damage when used properly

Well now, was an amazing ability second to none very easy to use. sadly not anymore. with a range of 5500 now you need to check the exact range to prepare for a gank well it still does all the good stuff like revealing all hidden enemies globally for 6 seconds, but now you just need to gain position before popping the ultimate now.

Play Style

early game

Well first off get the Amplifying Tome and a Health Potion for two reasons helps build into a Mejai's Soulstealer and gives most AP for WC, go mid always if not its fine. it's not the end of the world but be sure to get your fair share of the farm. being under farmed can severally hinder your late game. so first point goes into PaC then a point in stacked deck. after that free reign to wild cards! play passive aggressive until lv 4 then show them the power of wild cards then blue card to refresh mana ASAP whenever you can. If they foolishly try to turret dive you gold card and watch the turret destroy in early game.

Also a side note before lv 6 if you manage to get them real low and they "b" by their turret even behind their turret pop on Q and go to the edge of the range and aim and fire! easy kill from long range. most people don't expect the range. play a game and see for yourself.

mid game

As soon as you reach lv 6 go b once your turret is safe i usually buy boots and blasting wand try to coordinate a gank with your team then go back and farm some more. the next items on the to get list are Sorcerer's Shoes and Mejai's Soulstealer get those stacks started and you'll see how much those WC and PaC can do. After that Rabadon's Deathcap By now you should have Sheen and maybe the rest of Lich Bane which really sets you apart with easily 300-400+ AP some great CC and burst dmg.

late game

by now WC can clear every single minion in a wave at a single cast when it is lined up right. with a little positioning they will file in a straight line to their doom. if one lives Lich Bane will clear everything up. (usually the tank minion) push as soon as you have Nashor's Tooth and Guinsoo's Rageblade its like.. just too easy.

but remember throughout the game you are not invincible by any means! so don't act like it merely burst dmg and cc from a distance always keep a good distance from the opponents and never initiate a team fight. always enter fourth or just when everyones occupied throw a WC and let no one escape with your Destiny. just wear them down if they are just stalling a fight as WC goes through everything! like a warm knife through butter.

Summary

keep at it and farm, farm, farm farm. all game. blue card for mana regen, next combo with gold card Pick A Card plus Wild Cards and Stacked Deck with Lich Bane. i guarantee you will do well. the best thing to do for this and any other guide is to think. TF gives a new meaning to the word squishy... seriously so don't gate in with no plan. always coordinate. never assume teammate will jump in. and with that being said play aggressive until you get around 8 stacks(personal preference) from then on on play safe and smart. you can easily end with 700-800+ AP when its all said and done. It only gets easier from their.
