Teemo W Max Guide - Top NOT Jungle [13.8 Updated]

Howdy, the names Seeris / Jasic. Been playing league since S4 and have learned to enjoy the game focusing on the small details. I have over 500+ Teemo games and peaked Diamond in S9. The point of this guide is to help people understand Teemo's kit and how I utilize it best.
Spacing & Mobility
Teemo has more skill / movement based matchups than anything else. These are also his more difficult matchups. For this reason I've tested W max Teemo with over 50+ games and have found excellent results.

If you take nothing other than this advice. That's completely fine, because spacing and mobility is the MOST important part of Teemo.

[*] Teemo W Max: 26% Passive movespeed until damaged by enemy champion. 52% Movespeed when activated (yes 52%). With swifties you can be close to 450 movespeed passively at level 9 and over 500 movespeed with W activated. You don't need big damage early, but consistent damage and surviveablity. Learn to predict skillshots, engages, ganks, etc and you will learn with W max and swifties you're virtually unkillable.

[*] I will continue to update this with time, most people don't view Teemo in the perspective that I do. For that reason I gave my biggest differing perspective first.
Items
Itemization on Teemo seems bleak but when you read between the lines he's quite veratile.

Standard Teemo Build will ALWAYS have Berserker Greives and Nashors. This is your core and from here all items are team comp dependent.

BOOTS: I personally only ever run Berserker's or Swifties. You run swifties into Nasus, Olaf, Aatrox, Darius, etc. ANY champions that use slows to stick to you and slow you down.

My personal Teemo Build will ALWAYS have Swifties / Berserker Greives, Rod of Ages, and Muramana. This is my core and from here all items are team comp dependent.

[*] Zhonyas: 2+ AD enemies that can one shot you

[*] Banshees Veil: 2+ AP enemies that can one shot you

[*] Void Staff: 2+ enemies building magic resistance

[*] Shadowflame: 2+ enemies that have shields or can provide shields to teamates.

[*] Deathcap: Snowballing hard, giant lead, damage over utility if you have a team that can peel.
Ability Order
Ok into the spicy stuff that changes entire matchups, ability order.

Your standard build is E max. With the way I play some matchups are E max, some are W max, and some are Q max.
The concept of E max is damage, W max is spacing / utility, and Q max is negating AA based champions. Here is an example of each with matchups.

[*] E-Max (Confirming Damage): Easy matchups, no gapclosers, can't get on you.

[*] W-Max (Negating Skillshots + Gap Closers): Garen (Q), Aatrox (Q+W+E), Darius (W+E), Sett (Q+E), Tahm (Q+W), Olaf (Q), etc.

[*] Q-Max (Negating Auto-Attacks): Warwick, Yasuo (Dodge), Camille, Rengar (Dodge), Kled, etc. MOST Q-max matchups you should be playing another champion or focusing in on the things you're bad at (ideally spacing, positioning, and wave control).
Summoner Spells
Many will disagree, but for me personally there are only two REAL options.

[*] Flash + TP: Macro, wave management, safety (this is my go to)

[*] Flash + Ignite: Kill Pressure, thats it.

[*] Flash + Exhaust: Personally, if you have to run exhaust, play another champion with a better matchup.
Runes
Runes are pretty spicy for Teemo. The runes aren't for Teemo, they're for your matchup. For those who still dont' choose their runes by themselves, please learn the concept of runes so you know what to apply in certain matchups.

The only rune page I want to go over is Resolve, specifically Bone Plating vs Second Wind.

[*]Second Wind: It's very simple, if your matchup is poke damage over time you go Second Wind (Ranged Matchups in sense).

[*]Bone Plating: If your matchup is all in damage (Darius, Garen, Sett, etc) you go Bone Plating. It is extremely valuable to trade with bone plating up, it's a safety in a way.
Lanes to Play Teemo
Teemo is a top laner, you can stretch him to mid.

99% of people will NOT get CONSISTENT WINS playing Teemo in

[*] Mid: Bad Matchups

[*] Jungle: No Gank-Setup, Slow Clears

[*] Support: Bro Come'On

[*] ADC: Bro Come'On
