Burst Sylas for the Sigma Male Sylas Players

By Philex
Welcome!

Hey all! Welcome to my Burst Sylas build for the Sigma Male Sylas players!

Title changed from: Theorycrafted and Tested burst Sylas build for you to try out to new title as of 27/04/2022
Who am I?
I am Trikanoid or Felix, a Garen enthusiast, 4fun player, theorycrafter and small content creator. I've played Garen for a solid 11 years and counting, not as in one tricking him, but rather on and off.
So your first question is most likely "Why is a Garen main making a guide for Sylas?"
That's because I'm not a main nor am I an OTP, I'm just someone who plays 4fun and dabbles on a ton of champions.
I've played Sylas a ton and love his concept and his abilities, sucks that he can't just heal back to full HP with one W anymore :^)
Why make this guide?
I'm making this guide because I love theorycrafting and I love playing Sylas, sadly the only Sylas builds I've seen nowadays are cringe Everfrost abusers and that sh*t's weak as f*ck.

I am here to spread the religion of Hextech Rocketbelt Sylas, which I believe to be the strongest Sylas build at the moment.

PS: I'd love it if, anyone who tries out my build after reading, to send me their replays/highlights/vods/etc so I can see whether my theorycrafting worked for everyone or just in certain elos.
Why Manamune?
So, you're most likely curious as to why I put Manamune onto the item set. That's fair, no one understands it.

So, basically, the reasoning behind Manamune is because Sylas suffers from horrible waveclear, right?
Yeah? Sounds about right?
What if I told you that he also has AD scalings on his passive?
What? Now I'm trolling?
Nah, purchase this item one game and you'll see the massive difference in waveclear and split push potential. It's as clear as Day and Night.
You literally shove waves in one combo with little to no mana wasteage vs 5 combos and half your mana bar 🤣. Now why wouldn't you want Manamune?

Another good reasoning for Manamune is obviously your combos, if you weave in your empowered autos, will deal far more damage than a basic combo without Manamune.

And that's pretty much my reasoning behind the Manamune pick.

Though, just a little note: I actually only realised the potential of Manamune Sylas after I saw Mr Drututt buying it in a few of his Sylas games. Which, after those videos, I have gone Manamune in every Sylas game I've played and have never looked back.
Thank you Mr Drututt for buying me a Lamborghini and running my dad over with it to save me from my depression!
What about the Runes? Why these?
To start off with, have you ever felt the problems of not being able to heal because your Kingslayer was on cooldown?
Well worry no longer as both Transcendence and Triumph have got your back!
You will get a lot of cooldown reduction in combat due to Transcendence with takedowns and healing from Triumph.

Which leads me to my second point: Why go Manaflow Band? And why no Presence of Mind?
As I've stated earlier, I do not feel like Presence of Mind is as necessary as everyone think it needs to be, PLUS the fact that we purchase Manamune as well.
Manamune plus Manaflow Band will be enough when it comes to mana sustain in teamfights as well as split pushing because of the fact that Manaflow Band regens your mana both in and out of combat, whereas Presence of Mind only provides regen in combat.
Why hate Everfrost?
I hate Everfrost Sylas with a passion. I hated it when it first became meta and I still hate it even now. I've tried Everfrost and it deals legit 0 damage because it requires you to scale to 3 items whereas building a Luden's Tempest or Hextech Rocketbelt is literally your powerspike to one shotting people.

Sure it must be cool to play the longcon and survive as long as possible in a fight because you "heal a lot" but in reality you heal nothing and you deal nothing. This game isn't kind enough to let you scale to 3 items nor is it kind enough to let you outheal grevious wounds which are a literal counter to Sylas because he can't heal a lot like an Aatrox could or Kayn, or even a Vladimir so why bother trying to compete against them when you can one shot them before they can react?
Maybe Everfrost is good?
This section was added on 17/04/2022

So I think the Everfrost build might be decent with Manamune mainly because that used to be the mathematically correct build (idk if it still is) and I tried it in aram and it was pretty good :^).

I'd recommend this build to be taken primarily in top lane as that is where you need to be more "tankier" or more of a "bruiser" and Everfrost does pretty well in giving you the HP necessary to fit those roles.

As for Death's Dance you can go Mejai's Soulstealer or Zhonya's Hourglass but I slapped a Death's Dance there because I unironically think it'd be decent with the build as you will have 115 bonus AD at lvl 18 with Muramana stacked and Death's Dance gives healing based on 175% bonus AD and if we multiply 115 by 1.75 that amounts to 201.25 and if we add on the Death's Dance bonus AD then multiply it again, we have 170x1.75 which amounts to 297.5 health healed from Death's Dance's passive! And because we have Triumph as well, that means we'll have approximately 500hp+ heals from kills and that is a lot! Plus Death's Dance has a 30% damage reduction so it makes it unironically a super good defensive item and Sylas also makes good use of AD funnily enough :^)

In conclusion, I think this is a viable build and quite possibly the best build for Top lane Sylas whereas the Hextech Rocketbelt build is good for both lanes.

Thanks for reading!
Thanks for reading and I hope everyone who reads and uses this guide success in their games! As well as hoping to make this the new meta Sylas build because f*ck Everfrost and anyone who uses it is literally trolling.
