Champion Build Guide

Thresh Mid and Top / Resale Kayle

By Noirubilac
Introduction
Welcome to the undisputed best Thresh Mid / Top guide ever made. Are you ready to outscale Kayle?

Straight from a fool in Silver 4, this build is guaranteed to give you the best carry on the market.

Enter Thresh.

Pros:
Scaling Armor and Ability Power
Two - Shot Enemies
Strong CC
Tilts People
Not too Squishy
Good Roams
Pick potential

Cons:
Lack of Escapes
You MUST be able to CS well
Need good Positioning and Macro

Build will be updated and matchups added as tested.

Suggestions are welcome!
Laning Phase
Play safe and wait for your opponent to make a mistake. Walk up to auto whenever you have grasp or flay available. Get your jungler to gank your lane once you hit lvl 3, use hook and flay to secure a first blood.

Your main trade should be to lantern yourelf, then auto, and flay. This should proc grasp and shield bash.

In order to succed on lane Thresh, especialy in top lane, you have to freeze the wave. To do this, let the opponent push (ie. you only last hit), then use your lantern to tank the minion wave and hold it in front of your tower. Be careful while doing this, as it is a great oppourtunity for them to trade and all in. Once you freeze, match their pushing to keep the wave there.

Freezes like this make it safer for you to lane, as you can cc them under tower if they all in you, protect you from ganks, and let your ganks be more effective.

Try to save your tp to get the full first back.

If you see your jungler dying in the river, go save them with lantern if you can do it safely.

Once you get mobis start looking for roam opportunities unless forced under tower. In this case cs, you are playing a slow "Carry" that needs to cs to win. Be patient.
Mid Game
Roam and look for picks in the side lanes. People will not expect Thresh to do large amounts of damage, and will not expect strong splitpushing. Use this to take advantage.

Steal enemies jungle if you can.

Both of the above will also grant you more souls, which you want to continue scaling.

When you see a teamfight beginning, either look to get an engage hook, or to auto a carry. Your auto does a large amount of damage, so use it to threaten.

Pop your shield to save members, or on your self for a little extra shield bash damage.

Your tp should be used to take objectives, or get in position for a teamfight. At other times rely on the fast move speed of mobis.
Late Game
Pretty much the same as midgame, you will have reached a dangerous level of damage, so play safe to ensure you can use it. Continue to take souls and waves whenever you can, especially if not full build.

In team fights focus the carries first while peeling for your own carries. The best position for you is behind the main tank (unless you are the main tank) while in front of your adc.
Rune Explanation
Grasp of the Undying - Taken for the damage and for some extra health and sustain in lane.
Shield Bash - Some extra damage for better trades in lane
Bone Plating - Just an amazing rune that will protect you in lane. You can take more aggressive trade while it is up
Overgrowth - Helps you scale harder and be even less squishy in late game
Taste of Blood - Lane Sustain
Relentless Hunter - more roaming
Item Build
Normal build will reach 100% crit on last item.

Start Stormrazor for the slow.
Then we get Statikk Shiv to help with waveclear and add damage.
Next Rapid Firecannon for the range and extra energize.
After that Infinity Edge for lots of extra on-crit damage.
Finish with Phantom Dancer for 100% crit and ghosting.

You end up with loads of attack speed and on-hit damage, almost like a 2nd adc. Make sure your team knows and plays around this.
