Alistars W is a great peel spell that can disengage your hook or just out position you. If you land a hook and use it again to get to enemy ADC he will just knock up you and use W so be careful.

Introduction
NOTE: My English isn't on a highest level so please if You see a mistake don't be mad or something just go back to this note :)
Best solution is to wait until 1:40 because of invades.
Invade: Start with your hook but make sure you won't miss it because of long cooldown.
Enemy invade: Take W spell so you can save your teammates flash.
In all other cases take E as a first spell and max it. It will help to pull junglers camp and will make easier to use relic shields passive.

The spell you necessary need to have is flash. It enables a engages for example flash+E+not missed hook during a junglers gank=kill. Also you all saw any ,,play'' with hook after a flash :)
Second spell:Exhaust/Ignite
A)Exhaust-Very optimal spell thats working vs every matchup. Well timed will help to win a fight on bot lane or even in teamfight. Remember to exhaust carries not tanks or supports :)
B)Ignite-Aggresive spell. It helps to feed your ADC very fast even on lvl 2. But its not best spell in teamfights.

1. Laning phase
Our E has a perfect passive to poke enemy carry so use it when its charged (red icon of E)
Use relic shield passive on a cannon minions. If you can get close to enemy ADC just use E to engage and then use hook. Use lanterns to escape ganks or to help your jungler to get on your lane. Do support stuff like warding, timers of enemy summoner spells etc.
2. Warding
Never forget about wards. If you start with stealth ward use it in 3rd or 4th minute in a river bush. After recall remember about a vision ward and use it in tri-bush. Ward far bushes on lane it will enable a teleport from your top laner. Ward dragon and other objectives. Deep wards? Why not?

A)Secure your ADC. Use Face of the mountain to give your carry a shield and try to peel it with your E or R.
B)Kill enemy carries. Hook one of them and make your team a way to him. Exhaust a enemy that makes a biggest dmg.

Thresh is a champion with a one of best mechanics in the game thats why you will never be bored with him. All you have to do is to find you own Thresh. Try my builds, make own runes and masteries, try to play as you like to do. Become best Thresh by beeing yourself :)
