Udyr is a very strong laner and can win vs. mostly anyone. But, there are only a few rules. If you are laning vs. a ranged champion max your shield first for sustain and last hit in Turtle Stance, and if you are goings vs. a melee champion max your Q - Tiger stance first and last hit in Bear Stance, that way you can deny him a lot of farm. But remember, Slowing effect is your worst enemy, so try not to engage on champions like Kayle without your jungler.

For Runes Attack Speed is your best choice combine with some defensive stats, Instead of AD Quintessences you could also take Armor Penetration, Move Speed or Attack Speed although I AD Quintessences are the ones I recommend the most.

I am aware that these masteries seem extremely weird for most of you, but try it out and you'll see they work quite amazing! :)

For Udyr your items are mostly the same, Trinity Force and Randuin's Omen are a must buy along with Ninja Tabi although instead of Ninja Tabi you could use Boots of Swiftness since slowing effects kill Udyr, it's your choice! If you are going vs heavy burster AP like LeBlanc it's more recommended to buy a Banshee's Veil instead of Spirit Visage since it blocks her combo.

In jungle, I recommend starting with Tiger Stance and maxing it out first, by the time you max your Tiger stance, start maxing your Phoenix Stance. The lifesteal bonus from your masteries will work extremely well with the damage bonus you get from Tiger Stance meaning you can take the buffs and leave the jungle with full health by only using 1 health potion and maybe even none.
