Veigar is a pure Nuke. Rightly played and builded he can kill any champ in one blow. Therefore, he is not a tanky champ and he is not a hard ap carry as his cd are huge. He can be used as a mid if it suits you but he isn't the strongest of them in my opinion.

Pros

+ Incredible nuker
+ Good Farmer
+ Great in teamfight
+ Has the capacity to scare ANY ennemy champ even those tank
+ Funny as hell to play

Cons

- Easily Targeted in teamfight
- Squishy
- Lack escape tools
- Can't fight alone multiple ennemie champs he need a team to back him up
- Skills as silence render im useless(Vulnerable to crowd controls effects)
- Always in need of mana

Ignite : Well your are a nuke so having more damage is pretty self-explanatory

Flash: I feel that everyone should get this spell as a most have. It is one of your only escape tools

Ghost: Not a bad choice if you dont like flash but it is worse than dont be duped. Trading it for Ignite isnt bad too but you will sometime lack a bit of dmg and you will miss ignite

Surge: Personnaly I find this spell near useless and I believe it is a overall bad spell

Teleport: If you want to get back in line quickly you can use this. The problem is that you lose one of your summoners spell (Most likely Ignite if you are smart)


The other summoners spells are not good on Veigar and please dont even comen with Clarity this spell is a joke and each ap carry/nuke that use it is usually bad.

ADD WHY THE USUAL RUNES FOR AP NUKES/CARRIES IS A MUST ON Veigar BECAUSE HE IS AN AP NUKE. BUT DO IT LATER AS INTELLIGGENT PLAYERS ALREADY KNOW THIS STUFF.... I MEAN COME ON WHY WOULD THEY PICK AD OR TANK RUNES WHEN THEY PLAY AN AP CHAMP.


ADD A PART WHY SPELL VAMP RUNES ARE ALMOST AS EFFECTIVE AS GOING WITH 9/0/21 MASTERIES(BAD BAD BAD)

I believe these 21/0/9 masteries are self-explanatory and that it does not take rocket science in order to understand them.

Baleful Strike

Baleful strike is Veigar common attack. Farm with it from the begginning until the end. This is your most reliable harrassing skill as it do decent damage


Dark Matter

Dark Matter is Veigar most powerful attack. But, it is a very previsible attack so you need to use it wisely if you want it to work. Dont spam it as it burn your mana extremely fast.

Event Horizon

This skill is your stun but be advised it only stuns when the champ tries to get in or out. So you need to use it when the ennemy champs are backing or charging.

It is also your only skills that allows you to retreat and evade fighting. But, it is very limited. Champions as Master Yi, Xin and Kassadin that are capable of lunging to you can ignore it since they do not need to go through it in order to kill you. But, dashes such as Tristana, Shen, etc will result in a stun.

Primordial Burst

Your ult is a big blast capable of doing a large amount of damage especially to Ap champs. I would say that you should get a kill each time you intend to use it. If it doesnt happen then you just failed your nuke job better luck next time.



How to use your skills

Here is the combination without your ultimate

Event Horizon= STUN HIM

Dark Matter= BOOYAH

Baleful Strike= DIE YOU ***** (Omg I said it Im sooo badass right now)

Ignite= FINISH HIM!


The combination stay the same with your ult just add it after or before ignite whatever suits you

*****IN ORDER TO GET IN RANGE AND BEGIN YOUR COMBO YOU SHOULD USE FLASH. WHY? BECAUSE THE CHAMPS FIRST REACTION IS GOING TO BE OMFG!!!! A NUKE GOTTA RUN BACK!!! PLACE EVENT HORIZON IN THEIR WAY AND HAVE FUN*******

Skill Sequence with your ult

Same thing, when they are stunned Dark Matter, Ult, Baleful Strike, Ignite

As Phreak would say this combo does

Smartcasting your spells is extremely useful as it saves precious time needed to nuke their carry.

Go in key bindings and smartcast your spells.

Note: It can take you some time to adapt to smartcast but I promise that once you adapted it really improves your gameplay.

If you play him in a ranked game I reccomend that you start with Bootsand three health pots. You can`t go wrong with that. Then you should buy two or three Doran's rings.


Ok so now get to the controversial part why Morello's Evil Tome over Deathfire Grasp. I will be honest both are good choice and both works. This really depends on what you prefer. If you dont use the special ability on Deathfire Grasp dont take it as Morello's Evil Tome gives your more ap and cd reduction.


Rylai's Scepter gives you some health and also slows your ennemy which is usefull I believe. You can take over it if you dont like the scepter. Fully scaled they both give 80 Ap but RoA gives you more health and some mana.

Every good LoL player knows that every games are different and that you need to adapt to it. My item build are guideline not a must. If the ennemy team has fed carries or fed ap carries, too many crowd controls or whatever.

It is those who adapts who survives not the strongest
So even if you are a strong player but dont know how to adapt to a situation you will lose games and will burn in the fires of ELO HELL

Veigar was my first main champ and I always enjoy playing him even though he is not the best pick possible in many situations. But, why do we play LoL? for fun or for Elo?
