Introduction

Welcome to my first guide here on MobaFire: Xin Zhao - Too Fast For You.

The focus of this guide is speed, critical chance, and attack speed. You will be squishy, but you will also be the fastest object in the arena capable of dealing insane DPS to champions and substantial DPS to structures.

After following this build you should move at nearly double your initial speed, attack at the maximum speed, and crit almost every attack for 400-475 damage.

Whenever Jarvan III, the king of Demacia, delivers one of his rallying speeches from the glinting marble balcony atop the Royal Palace, Xin Zhao is at his side. Coined the Seneschal of Demacia, Xin Zhao is the personal steward of the Lightshield Dynasty. His enigmatic, silent vigil has led to an abundance of conjecture concerning his ''secret life'' and origins. Whether it's ''Zaun double-agent'' tendered at the dinner table or ''indebted rune mage'' mused in the editorials of the ''Demacian Constant'', Xin Zhao betrays no hints to sate the curiosity of the masses... for good reason.

Prior to the formation of the League, Noxus was renowned for a spectacle called The Fleshing. It was a gladiatorial event with a cruel twist: as a fighter won matches, his number of opponents (generally prisoners of war) fought simultaneously would increase. This meant eventual death for every contender, but with unparalleled glory. Xin Zhao, known then as Viscero, was slated to face 300 soldiers, nearly six times the previous record. This was clearly meant to be his final match. Jarvan II, hearing of this unprescedented feat, infiltrated the arena to offer him an alternative: serve Demacia and punish those who ultimately sentence him to death in exchange for his freedom. Xin Zhao accepted, astonished that a king would risk his own life on his behalf. Under the cover of a prearranged Demacian assault on Noxus, Jarvan liberated Xin Zhao and his 300 opponents. During their retreat, Xin Zhao took a poisoned dart meant for Jarvan. This act of loyalty, from a man who vowed no allegiance, earned Xin Zhao a spot at his side until the day the king died. Now in the service of his son, Jarvan III, Xin Zhao is stepping into a new ring - the Fields of Justice - to fight for his adopted country and to honor the legacy of the man who gave purpose to his life.

Skill Sequence

This is your bread and butter. Use it to farm mobs, use it to wreck faces. Don't forget that using in combination with will allow you to use more often.

Cry some more! Really, do cry some more. A lot of players new to Xin Zhao will forget to use this skill as often as they should. Remember, the increased attack speed will not only help you destroy your target more quickly, but it will also increase the rate you heal at since this is dependent on how quickly you strike. Also, don't forget to use this skill when attacking a structure. Until you get your , , and your damage versus structures will be pathetic since you can't critical hit them.

Use this skill to close in on enemies, especially to get in and use . I leave mine at level 1 until champion level 14, not because it doesn't do nice damage, but because its primary function is to close the gap so you can let your crits and deal the damage.

When this skill is off cool-down you are go for gank. I repeat, you are go for gank. Acquire your target.

Summoner Spells

The central idea in this build is that speed will allow you to choose your engagements. Therefore, your summoner spells should emphasize your ability to run down over-extended opponents and secure map control by scaring the begeezus out of anyone who dares to cross the map or traverse the jungle. At level 18, with around 590 movement, you'll run circles around your opponents and even won't be able to save them. For this reason, I recommend that you take:

This skill will allow you to increase the disparity between your target's move-speed and your own. Increasing this difference not only allows you to catch your opponent, but it also allows you move attacks per second when chasing.

This skill is chosen for the same reason; by increasing the difference between your movement and your opponent's you'll not only be able to catch them, but you'll hit them more times per second as they run away.

Creeping / Jungling

Feel free to hop in the jungle from time to time and take out the creeps. This will boost xp for your team as a whole and give you extra money to get your items more quickly.

After level 9 you can start taking down the Dragon solo or either of the lizards.

Farming

As you get into the mid-late game, when you're saving up for , , and , don't forget that a large group of minions can be easily farmed by using:

You ultimate cool-down is not very long, and sometimes the extra 300-500 gold bonus from using it to quickly kill mob swarms and back away before gankers can arrive will put you ahead in the item race.

Unique Skills

Other builds focus on the damage stat a good deal more than this one, which is fine, but this build trades a small amount of damage in the early game for insane speed. While this means you won't be able to go toe-to-toe with some of the champions other builds can handle, you will be able to run down and kill just about anyone you can catch alone or out of position.
