Yorick is truly an off-tank/initiator with a ranged slow,movement increase to chase and life steal to keep you alive throughout the fight he fits the role perfectly. I focus my build on what makes him so strong his passive, Unholy Covenant with CDR, health and AD. This helps your minions do more damage and and take more survive longer. I take CDR because you should have as many of your ghouls out as possible in fights to increase the amount of damage you do and the amount you can take.

Some nubs out there are thinking "Whoa Whoa Whoa Whoa Whoa Whoa Whoa Whoa Whoa why not go into the defensive tree on a off-tank?" and after reading that I also bet some of you thought about the batman glass joke from family guy(I would have embed a video of that scene but the only good ones that i could find were on non-supporting sites...so here is a link instead http://video.adultswim.com/family-guy/ew-gross.html) Alright now back to what this is all about, i dont see a point in going into the defensive tree on yorick because as long as you have 1 minion out your taking 5% reduced damage and thts 1% better then Tenacity so its smarter to go cooldowns to keep your ghouls out more to increase your reduced damage. Those same nubs are thinking,"Why go into archaic knowledge when none of his abilities stack with AP?" and i'll tell them why, this site was made for learning how to play LoL, right? Yes, it was and so I will be their teacher, but I'll be that one that answers your questions in a tone off voice that makes you feel dumb and give you weird looks after. Now my little nubbins i get it because, if you read the abilities like i told you to in the introduction you would see that Omen of Famine and Omen of Pestilence both do magic damage. So it is important to get some Mpen so you do more damage.

Going 11/0/19 (skip to around 4min and pause to see what he chooses don't listen to anything else he says though, phreak didn't seem all enthused about doing this spotlight he was probably still bummed out after US lost at Dreamhack)isn't to bad but id rather have reduced summoner spell cooldowns over 4 points ArP.

I get Omen of Pestilence first to check the brush because face checking is for noobs.

Getting all three of you main spells first is important because the more you can have more ghouls out increasing your passive's effectiveness.

maxing Omen of Famine is great for keeping you in lane longer which will give you more gold and help you level faster.

DON'T EVER FACE CHECK THE BRUSH USE Omen of Pestilence INSTEAD and obviously spam all day every day to farm and harass. You don't always have to farm with you skills though only to this if getting zoned or if you know you won't be able to get that last hit in time. What being zoned you say nibbins? well watch this video and it should tell you everything. Play Video Shurelia is a great teacher i used this when i first started playing and it increased my play drastically. The best thing about zoning with yorick is that his minions have their own little temporary zones and it makes pushing way easier. Try to use this to your advantage. But try not to extend into dangerous zones, just harass.

You are the of off-tank/initiator in teams fights with that role you should be the first one into battle and should be using you CC to get the enemy team close. using ghost or you ghost blade active before initiating is a good idea. try to slow there team so your team can catch up and do work. Also try to aim for there main damage dealers i.e. AP and AD carries. Either cast Omen of Death on yourself when initiating or on your ad carry once the fight starts.

sometimes if you need a little more MS to get away from someone in a lane hit a minion with Omen of War real fast to increase your MS.

The combo i use when engaging is R > W > E > Q then just use them again to keep your passive working. To more easilydo this combo you can open up your key bindings and go down to smart cast and on spell 2 make it w and on spell 3 make it e this will help you use you combo faster and keep you more aware of what is happening around you.
What this does is immediately places the spell wherever your cursor is, so there is no need for that second mouse click. I find this to be very useful but if you can't quite get it just hit reset all in key bindings. You can also place your r on the forth smart spell cast slot.
