Introduction, Welcome to Zoe!

This guide is a bit late but after Zoe's initial release but I had a lot of fun playing her, she has an interesting and fun skillset, is op if fed and can land hits, and overall worth spending blue essence on. I will just be writing some combos, tips and tricks for the new inexperienced Zoe players. This guide won't explain Zoe's abilities (assuming you already know them in detail). As said, Zoe is fun to play. It may be tricky to land your q skillshots at first (I always missed mine by 1 pixel first time!) but after getting used to using your q, it is one of the games greatest kiting tool for greeting your opponents with! The thing I love about Zoe is that she is a champ for imagination! Spell Theif and your other abilities can create ridiculous combos enough to make enemy teams flame at you! Whats so great about flashing once when you have the ability to potentially flash 6 times? :) Zoe can mid, top, or support making her extremely flexible! Although mid is her best lane :D

Squishy Chart Update

I have updated the guide with my own squishy level chart, (click the next build on the top of the page). This is made so you can glance at the chart to find a matchup enemy you want to try 1 shot.
This chart is my personal summary of how easy it is to 1 or 2 shotty a champ. The higher it is the harder to tilt your enemy with paddles... I base this guide of squishies considering their movement speed, stuns or any other debuff effects, escapes, and in general just how you can walk up to them and say hi with your paddle... This does not include a players individual skill, you may even get rekt by green champions if players are good enough. This is just the difficulty to counter or absorb your damage.
Make sure you are a few levels higher from roaming and receiving kills (preferably 2 or 3 levels higher). A clean 1 shot should work on all squishies if you have enough level and have the right build (refer to build section). I bring ignite so I can add in extra damage and prevent most healing effects (such as summoners spell heal and Alistars healing etc.) Most of the time Zoe can 1 shot adc, mid laners and non-tank support that don't build magic resistance. In times the enemy builds magic resistance, get a few of your teammates to participate in the battle and buy magic penetration items such as Void Staff. Try to land your bubbles before skipping in...

PLEASE NOTE! If I don't write a description for a champion, it means I'll update them later since it takes a while to write guides...

Runes

In this section, I will explain the runes I have for Zoe and why I chose the runes.

SORCERY RUNES

Arcane Comet:
Phase Rush would be useless on Zoe because Zoe is a burst champion who pops in and out. Zoe would not have the leisure to auto an enemy 3 times in battle while Arcane Comet is more ideal for a short burst damage.

Manaflow Band:
Zoe is mana hungry through half the game. Manaflow Band benefits her onslaught of paddles, with each ability Zoe lands she will be able to stack permanent mana.

Transcendence:
Transcendence increases Cool Down Rate when you reach level 10, this benefits Zoe's ult which would have another point available to her portal when she reaches level 11. CDR is important for Zoe to throw more of her paddles into battle.

Gathering Storm:
Zoe naturally becomes much easier to target late game because Zoe's early snowball stops being effective when enemies reach certain levels. Gathering storm helps Zoe snowball faster and continue to deal moderate damage throughout the game.

DOMINATION RUNES

Sudden Impact:
Sudden impact can be activated through Zoe's ult (which will have more CDR due to transcendence). It can also activate with the Hextech Protobelts and Flashes that Zoe can pick up through the middle of battle.

Eyeball Collection:
Eyeball Collection gives Zoe gain permanent AD and AP when she collects eyeballs from taken down champions and wards, as Zoe roams around the map snowballing unfortunate squishies she is sure to find enemy wards throughout the map.

List of combos and things to try

If needed for any of these combos you can add ignite, exhaust, etc or a Spell Theif (w) spell, these combos can vary from helping you poke safely from far away or poking in the lane.

If they try to hide behind minions to avoid getting hit by your paddle.

You q to the side and redirect it back into them, it doesn't do as much damage because of the lack of distance but allows you to slowly poke them down and eventually go in or make it easier to gank.

If you need to hit someone with your bubble through a wall or/but they are hiding behind minions

Ult behind the walls around you and sleepy bubble! In mid lane you have the river walls to play with.

If your enemy running but you want to break distance to q

Throw your q back, ult towards them and flash with either your real flash or a flash from Spell Theif (w). (Horrible example, but you get the idea...)

If it is dangerous to ult forward

Ult back and q, then direct it towards someone this is useful if you are poking under turret while there are more than 2 people in your lane.

Hitting an opponent with an e bubble unexpectedly!

Throw your bubble through long walls ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) or chuck it through the middle of turrets or inhibitors! Even a nexus works as a wall! If your enemy decides to deal damage to your turret, hit them with your bubble through the turret to catch them off guard!

ESCAPES NOT TESTED YET! Please tell in the discussion if it works!

Escape by using ult to Thresh lantern and click it?
Ulting nearby to Kalista and have her ult?
Ulting to Tahm Kench and have him eat you?

Tips and Tricks

1. If Zoe ults THERE IS NO EXCEPTION! she will always return to her first portal (even if she dies). Etc. If Poppy decides to ult Zoe as she uses her portal Zoe will fly back to her original spot ;D. Remember Zoe's ult is a gap breaker, not an escape.

2. Zoe bubbles can only be blocked by Cleanse, Morgana shield, and Crucible IF the opponent uses it BEFORE your bubble lands on them, Fiora can also cancel with with her parry so be VERY careful around her. It acts like Zileans bombs, after its attached, it cannot go away unless you hourglass it.

3. Zoe's paddle changes direction if you flash or ult, even if you have already marked where the direction of where your "q" hits you can change it with an ult or flash. Meaning you can flash to the right and land your shot even if the enemy ran towards the right to evade it!

4. Obviously... CLEAR THE WAVE! Minions are by far Zoe's ultimate counter! (If I could I would have added minions to THE HIGHEST DANGER RATE to the vs champ list......). Obviously get your team to clear the wave OR engage AFTER you clear the wave...

5. Your passive activates upon a skill being pressed, this means that Zoe can still use her passive while her 'Q' hasn't reached an enemy. I use this method to kill a low health minion who is blocking the minions behind it. That is when I direct my paddle into the backline minions without the minion in front intercepting the shot. You can use this method to surprise enemies.

6. Zoe does not seem to have a place in a team fight, but she can effectively take out the backline if the tanks decide to move away from their ADC's. Zoe's sleep bubbles can be a great way to engage a team fight because of its range when Zoe uses her Ult or if she casts it through a wall. Keep your enemies snoozing while your team squashes them...

7. Timing your ult can save your life even if it cannot be used to run away!

Farming

Don't waste your q too much early game, use it to poke opponents if they try to come near their farm or get close to you. You should auto your minions until they are low and finish a horde with one q, the q's should be from you running back to gain distance, or really fast to poke or finish really low health minions. If you know you can kill a horde with your q, use your passive to poke another nearby minion. If you don't know how you will need to learn how to last hit your minions, gold is extremely important for Zoe to do damage because her abilities power IS dependent on items.

Vision

Zoe is a champ that needs a lot of map awareness and vision control. Bad teammates that don't ward is your worst enemy! Not warding means that you cannot teleport to their aid if you grab teleport with Spell Theif (w), or making it hard for you to gank. Zoe is a champ that may sometimes need to turn the camera vision that follows you to free movement! (I used to be a guy who never liked the free movement) But it is extremely important for sniping with your e bubbles and running from ganks! Later on in the game grab at least 2 control wards, ESPECIALLY if enemy Jg consist of champs such as Evelynn and Twitch... They are also important so that you can destroy enemy wards to kill enemy vision. These help you gank without enemies noticing and make sure enemies don't have vision on objectives such as drag, scuttle, and baron.

Early Game

If your team prepares to invade, don't build your q yet! Hold on and wait to see if your team needs your bubble or not. If not build q! Q is important for laning so build it if you need it after reaching enemy territory and they try to escape. Cast your e through walls for distance and have your team feast on them!

When you are in lane, poke poke poke poke poke. You want to keep up your farming with you q, scare your enemy away or deal damage to them by casting your q onto them. Use combo methods from above and Auto them with your passive if they are melee and you are sure they can't all in on you. If you are having a hard lane you may need to ask your friendly neighbourhood jungler to come by and save the day! Worst case scenario you may need to ask for a lane switch or start roaming to other lanes to assist the other lanes. Try to create pressure to stop your enemy mid pressing into your lane. Under all circumstances try to grab first turret whether you will die or not. A first turret gives gold equal to 3 kills! Also make sure you do your best to land your sleepy bubble on enemies, you do more damage while they are asleep so charge up your give them a big slapping! When they call for their jungler and who gets invited to your lane try to escape by e bubbling them, you may need flash if it gets bad. Try to do large wall gap flashes to break more distance.

Mid Game

This is when you SHINE! (If you played well of course ._.) Anyways this is when Zoe does alot of damage while your opponents haven't finished their full build. Your job isn't to damage tanks but to jump in on squishies! Killing squishies early game will slow their advancement and gold. If both teams decide to launch a teamfight it IS YOUR JOB! To pick the squishy guys off, it stops their team doing damage considerably to your front lines and helps at least poke their carries until they are low enough to run away from battle. Teamfights is where your Spell Theif (w) Shines! Make use of every single flash and ignite you see, spam it if you need to! You have a redemption... Drop it on your team! Grab a ignite... Ult to the backlines and significantly stop their heal effect! If you need to, ult onto a spell where it's in a tricky position to get! If your enemies don't use their spells because of you grab them off minions with balloons. Ping your team to back away from these amazing minions!

Late Game

Either your team or the enemy team would not at least be on your inhibitor turrets! If the enemy team has more gold advantage then stay at base and farm with your team as said earlier in the guide Zoe is dependent on items! Even in late game Zoe should not focus tanks unless they are soloing, she should go for backlines or stopping enemy escapes with her bubble. If you recon you are fed enough 1 shotting adc's and mage type champs is not a dream! The great thing about Zoe is the satisfaction of chunking enemy health!

DON'T SURRENDER..... YET!

You only surrender under these 3 conditions!
1. Enemy team is fed
2. Your team has no objective control
3. You have no teamwork amongst your team

Carry your game to late game where Zoe can still shine once again!
