1st (3 Pts): The_Nameless_Bard - Easy 1st place. I just love this background. how do you make such particles? they look awesome.
2nd (2 Pts): Hogopogo - i how the background looks. it is great how the light from it makes syndra look so orange/red.
3rd (1 Pt): - fashionablellama - i really like the contrast, not only in the background, but also on syndra herself. In my opinion the contrast in the background is a bi too strong. the right side is not bright enough and the light in the lower left corner is too strong IMO.
I want to give points to some other people too, but i can't :(

STRATEGIC VOTING
I don't want to be obvious here, OR promote sabotage, but this is a battle to end all battles. Similar to reality television shows, you CAN vote however you want, ie, strategic votes. You actually DO win something from this competition, which is the title BATTLE ARTIST, which replaces whatever title you currently have (Editor, Scout, etc).

@Everyone: I'm super happy with all the fantastic constructive feedback you've been giving. This thread has been amazingly productive and positive, which is great. Keep up the awesome work! And please don't feel down if you didn't get the most points this round - the competition is tough, and it just means you have to be tougher to ACE Round Two! Voting closes on the 11th, but if we don't get more votes in by the 10th, we'll start the next round :)
1st (3 Pts): YayaFTW + the image is very bright and it plays well with the original figure. you also made the background blend and match the light from it. the corners, however are a bit too bright.
2nd (2 Pts): Hogopogo + the background is very rich but somewhat dull to my eyes. Also i don't quite feel the light is very well matched. Still very good.
3rd (1 Pt): fashionablellama + the contrast is the strong point but, and though at almost matches the light scheme of the figure there is no variation from center to each side, making it lack depht.
Is this ok? I liked all the works overall, but there are clear differences in quality, imo. I want to congratulate everyone that is participating. =3

2nd (2 Pts): fashionablellama - I find it hard to criticise this one, it just doesn't quite have the aesthetic appeal to claim 1st place. I love the contrast across the piece and the way the render is incorporated in.
3rd (1 Pt): YayaFTW - The background design is really appealing and the render well placed, however it suffers for a lack of contrasting darkness. My complaint about the front hand from Test0ML's feedback actually applies to a lot of the submissions, including yours.
Runner up (0 Pts): Hogopogo - The smudging looks gorgeous and the render is well integrated into it. Perhaps a little too well, there's a lesser sense of foreground and background, which would have been okay had it not been for the text. The text is not well integrated and becomes the foreground, which forces the lovely artwork out of the spotlight.
