o.O Thanks guys, lol. It was a toss up of voting for Bard's for the ingenious idea behind it, or L1's for the prettiness...
I think I'll vote Nameless this round :P

With regards to mine (as with all my manipulations), I found an image I liked, I selected a piece out of it, placed it on my black canvas that fit the dimensions required, and then ran it through whatever editing I liked to do with it (filters, gradients, cut and paste and smooth sections, text addition).
I wasn't aware we had to completely make our own images from scratch.
Now, if you guys would like the competition to be harder/more interesting, you'd add in something like:
- You must use this render of champion xXx
- The theme is xXx
This will give everyone a base image to work with, and then their imagination can be fulfilled properly, and everyone will see the extent of manipulation/alteration they have done to achieve their final effect.

Just require a render, nobody needs an exact render of a certain someone/thing.
Basics of a signature include a focal and bg, so just make sure those needs are met. If the theme cannot include one of them, then eliminate it. Themes should also be broad and simple (typography, movies, animals, freestyle, retro, black and white, etc.)

I actually disagree, Muffins. If everyone was given a particular something to work with, it'd be easier to judge the better/more interesting/etc signature.
If everyone was given the task of growing their best apples from a particular packet of seeds, or spliced twig, then the judges will be safe in knowing everyone started from the same place, no matter the experience of the grower.
If no limits are set, people could bring in oranges, cherries... a basketball? How are you meant to judge something that diverse?
That's why I suggested a base render, or a base image to work with.
So for example, if I won this week's SOTW, I'd add in a little requirement like:
And if people feel that is too restricting, then they don't have to participate.

Eh, I unno about giving people one thing to work with jhoi, a lot of the fun of this is to see the different images people choose~
And also, I hope that isn't actually the image for the next sotw, the background is sooo plain~~~~
