In a solo lane I also like Wriggle's on Jax.

2Doran's / Merc / Wriggle's makes for one tanky jax at a low price, with decent damage. You get a guinsoo's or a gunblade and you can solo Baron as soon as you hit 16 :P

Well, you don't need Doran's Blade on Jax. As I said, Wriggle's Lantern+ Vampiric Scepter give you enough sustain for the lane.

Jax is still great at top lane. They only put away 30 DMG of his combo, not that much. Don't forget that Wriggle's Lantern is also a great item on jax, because with that and another Vampiric Scepter, you are like Udyr. Means, you sustain so much through attacks that you can't be outlaned. And you can farm free because of the proc. And you get Baron control. And...

Get that damn Wriggle's Lantern!

Good start for Jax is Cloth Armor + 5 Health Potion's against AD and Boots + 3 Health Potion's against AP.

lmao, stop trolling the boy, Wriggles is nothing compared to Hextech, its only useful to get some easy gold from minions.

Hextech, Ninja Tabi and Guinsoo are highly recommended items. After them, maybe Trinity, Phantom Dancer, Lich Bane, Rylais, Frozen Mallet, Atmas. You choose.

Well, just look at Saintvicious Guide...

You can also use Wriggle's Lantern to escape enemy's through Leap Strike on the sight ward of Wriggle's Lantern.

And you don't need Ninja Tabi, Greater Seal of Evasion+ lvl 1 Counter Strike is enough Dodge.

Mercury's Treads are way more important.

I dislike Doran's or Wriggle's on Jax, I love starting with boots and getting Gunblade ASAP, because Jax is da bomb with it.

If you are against an AP-Carry top, that is the way to go, because the magicresist on Mercury's Treads counters them hard.

Otherwise, in a lane against a Garen or an Udyr, you will need the Wriggle's Lantern for sustain.

My build for Jax:

Against AP-Carry:

Item Sequence

Health Potion 50
Health Potion 50
Health Potion 50
Mercury's Treads 1100
Vampiric Scepter 900
Bilgewater Cutlass 1600
Hextech Gunblade 3000
Guinsoo's Rageblade 3000
Atma's Impaler 2300
Guardian Angel 3200
Wit's End 2800

Against Heavy AD:

Item Sequence

Health Potion 50
Health Potion 50
Health Potion 50
Health Potion 50
Health Potion 50
Boots 300
Wriggle's Lantern 1800
Mercury's Treads 1100
Vampiric Scepter 900
Bilgewater Cutlass 1600
Hextech Gunblade 3000
Guinsoo's Rageblade 3000
Atma's Impaler 2300
Guardian Angel 3200

Against Others:

Item Sequence

Health Potion 50
Health Potion 50
Health Potion 50
Wriggle's Lantern 1800
Mercury's Treads 1100
Vampiric Scepter 900
Bilgewater Cutlass 1600
Hextech Gunblade 3000
Guinsoo's Rageblade 3000

Now I see how you play as Jax. You try to focus on damage using Q and W. I play in another way, the one which focus more on dodging and stunning.

Isnt Guardian Angel too much for Jax? Like, if you dont come up and kill at least 2, its kinda useless.

Well, just look at HotshotGG playing him. If you reach that point of the build, you are overfed. That means, Guardian Angel let the enemy cry.

But this works best in combination with Zilean.

I dont like GA very much, but the defence is useful.

And getting overfed is "easy" when you get the ult, AS + hard damage = farm likaboss

Personally I'd say dodge yellows are a must whether you buy Ninja Tabi or not.

Against a team with 2-3 good AUTO ATTACKERS, Ninja Tabi are almost must buy as well.

You can simply get Eleisa's miracle or a Cloak and dagger for tenacity purposes.

If they have simply high physical damage, I.E, Lee sin, Garen, Jarvan, but no real auto attackers like Cait, Nocturne, Vayne, Yi, etc.) then buying other forms of armor might suffice.
