No one is getting the point to this thread at all. When a new champion comes out, that means there aren't any guides for said champion. But when some finally come out, there is a stand still while we wait for the 5 days to past. At the 5th day stage there is a wave of newly accounts made, mainly to down vote other guys guide to get their more popular than yours. Once this happens your chance of getting looked at drastically decreases.
So my suggestion is to STOP newly made accounts from being able to vote for 1-2 weeks on new champions, or at least until that said guide gets a certain amount of votes as to where the down votes from these NEWLY made accounts wont be so drastic.
These type of votes are completely different from troll votes entirely.

Is that so? I've made several guides that got high-rated regardless of release date. Both my Eve, Janna and Kassa guide (Janna & Kassa guides are archived by now due to no longer updating).
Just provide quality and the community will provide the rest.

Exactly what Scrax said.
Also, keep in mind, this happens to EVERYONE.
We understand what you are saying, but we can't really do anything. Do you know how much hate there would be to the site if new accounts could not vote, even if it is just on new champions? A lot of our recent member base has been from people making new accounts to give input on the new champs. This site gets out the new champs quick (:D Matt), so it attracts a lot of people looking for resources on the new champs. As such, they want to vote on the new champs builds. We did a lot already to help this by preventing votes for 5 days, but now to make new members not be able to vote on guides they came here to see for 2 weeks?
No.

you know what i hate
i hate people who cry when something bad happens
just deal with getting downvoted, if you care so much about votes that you demand a new feature to restrict voting and act like it's an urgent matter that your guide got downvoted and that it should be rectified - you're writing a guide for the wrong reason
if you think your guide is good, then you shouldn't care if people downvote it. if people don't see your super awesome amazing 2 infinity edge gangplank guide, smile and just go "well hey, i tried, i'll just stick to my awesome build"
on that note, downvoting your guides, brb

Jet has been banned for trolling and blatant racism.
I think that we would be better off with decreasing the time that votes are locked on new champions to a day or 2. But also not allowing new accounts to vote for a week. Would discourage making several accounts heavily, and that I like.

sry, I meant troll votes.. they're pratically the same to me

Common mistake. Most users vote down because they're stupid or the build is bad. Troll votes are actually only a small part of downvotes.

Also, to me troll votes are any votes that lack comments. What's the point of downvoting if you're not going to say why you don't like the guide or how it can be improved? I'd rather have someone say he doesn't like a build for a stupid reason than someone who has the most legit of reasons but decides not to comment. Those who don't give their opinions are nothing but trolls.
You need to log in before commenting.
lol.
and @ OP, also, a lot of times, you may be proud of your guide and show it to friends, and ask them to vote...right? what about that?
people could also be too lazy to write an essay about why they don't like it so they just -1 it and write some random ****, but may actually not like it. you will have helpful people and non-helpful people.
Look at my Kat guide, when Comment to vote WAS an option to be required for all votes. I got like 10 random -1s, but the +s kind of outweigh it.
It happens to EVERYONE. So that balances it out too :)
