Akali's not a very strong jungler. If you're learning jungle, learn with ww or nunu.
A good jungle time is when you have a full route (e.g. blue to golems) complete by 4:00 (or earlier, the faster the better, you want to be the same level as you're solo lanes). You want to be at least be level 4 (level 4 is when you level your ganking ability) by then and you have several options. If you have red, you can go gank. If you're low on health, go b and buy boots or madred's razors (depending on what champ you're jungling with), or if there's no gankable lanes and you're fine with health, continue jungling.
In terms of tips to ganking, ganking priority is top if its 2v1, solo lanes, then bot. Don't gank if you're allies aren't in a position to help you unless you know you can pick up the kill by yourself (i.e enemy is low health or way out of position). You're allies can't help you if they are low health or out of mana otherwise they will likely die themselves. In those cases, simply walk into the lane to get enemy pressure off your teammates. Let them b and cover the lane for them. Don't stay in lane too long, throughout the laning phase you should be roaming and controlling your jungle if there is an enemy jungler. Pay attention to lanes that are getting pushed back more often and position yourself closer to those to ensure that you're nearby when a ganking opportunity comes up.
Akali's not a strong jungler because she can't do much to help her teammates until level 6 and by then there will be many missed opportunities. She's also more effective when she gets many kills as opposed to farm, so staying in jungle means she gets denied kills.

^he has good advice
and no, that is not OK
Akali is an OK jungle, coz of her spell vamp and lifesteal passive off the bat with the right runes and masteries and starting items, but her CC is lackluster to gank with (AoE slow thingy); many better junglers. Akali has an extreme lane presence, so she should be in lane anyways.
good and really EZ junglers that clear quick:
1. WW
2. Nunu
3. Trundle
4. Amumu
5. Fiddlesticks
6. Nocturne
7. Shen
8. Olaf
9. Sion
10. Win Nao
and many more, not in that order specifically.
Note how they all have CC...it is required if you want to gank so that your allies can get to them, that is the point of a gank.
Don't bother with enemy jungler unless he is bothering you or you are counter-jungling.
Gank your top solo lane, so he can hold his own and get some kills.
Then bot if need be, then mid, top is always number wan priority.
And yea.
Look at guides for specific jungling champions, and check out Xenasis's general jungling tips guide.
Also look up Stonewall008 on youtube, watch his stuff.
and also make sure to, if your jungler can (most can, at least ones I listed), start at blue so you have an easier time jungling the rest of the route and ganking, not having to worry about mana and having slightly lower cooldowns...to grab blue easier, get someone to leash for you so that you can hit on it some without taking damage, and it will die quicker with leashing damage help from allies, more or less depending on which leashing technique you use...for leashing techniques, check out this Stonewall video.
yayaya.

Groovy, I see what you mean about the cc, anything before 6 on akali is hard to pull off. I own sion and fiddle, so i guess ill give them a shot, just heard sion kinda sucks at jungling and fiddle isnt as good as he used to be. Otherwise Im just going to pick up nunu because hes cheap (I spend all my IP on runes). I usually duo with a friend, would it be best to throw him in top lane? (good coordination with ganks and whatnot?). If so can you think of really good combos for that. Id imagine someone that has good sustain, cc and isnt made of paper.
Don't jungle Sion. Don't jungle Akali either.
In terms of reliability, Warwick, Trundle, Nunu, Lee Sin, Udyr, Amumu, and Fiddlesticks are some of the strongest junglers out there at the moment. Fiddlesticks is actually an okay jungler now since he's not insanely reliant on blue anymore, and his ganks are SCARY.
Someone who fits all your criteria are the first six I listed (everyone bar Fiddle) and Amumu/Nunu are both very cheap champions.

^lol I get it, scary (scarecrow) xD
As for who to solo top, yea get your friend to so you can coordinate ganks in solo q, especially if you are in vent or some other voice program...
there are no real "combos", you just generally want a good offtank to solo top, since offtanks have a good mix between survivability, lane presence, damage, and CC.

Here is a great video of Stonewall (with commentary) on him jungling and ganking and what he looks during the match. And some funny raging on what is an apparently horrible Renekton.

Sion SUCKS at jungling (seen it does once, eww), but Fiddle got buffed so now he can jungle great. Nunu jungle is also fantastic and cheap, pick him/them up.

Nunu is actually a very complex jungler, nowhere near as clear-cut as Fiddlesticks. Look up some of the fantastic guides here on MOBAFire for him though is what I recommend.

Other part of it is ganks and getting ganked. Is it better to generally try and gank the other jungler if there is one or one of the lanes (I know everything is situational but nice to have a guideline). I still have to look alot at the other junglers and try and learn all their routes but is there any great places to gank them or does it all revolve around blue?
