If I said I disliked fanservice I made a mistake, I'm a 15 y/o happily hetero guy, why wouldn't I like fanservice? I just think that it is stupid when they go overboard, does that stop me from liking the series? not really no it might make me abandon the series for something lighter in the fanservice department. I like this Monster Musume because it is nonsensical and funny like most of the harem things I like, the main (manga) series I keep up with (my top 3 series) are Freezing, Sekirei and R+V, Freezing and Sekirei are fanservice heavy and R+V is a tad lighter but they are all nonsensical and funny at times and serious at others which I love about them, as you already know I read stuff like KissxSis (only when I'm out of other options) and HOTD but I much prefer other things that have storyline like FMA and I'm really liking the Kamisama no Memo-chou manga for some reason.

I'm not sure, but you do seem to have a bit of a love/hate relationship to fanservice.
It's perfectly understandable why you'd like it. I was more into fanservice when I was younger too. U kno, hormones and stuff. Don't think I was quite as much into it as you though :P

It ain't as though I'm into it as such it's more that I'm willing to watch it to watch a good story that is hidden behind it, I ain't denying that I enjoy fanservice anime and manga but I don't go out of my way to watch it also some stuff like KissxSis and the Freezing anime annoys the **** out of me simply because the high levels of it aren't necessary).

I finished Ikkitousen S3. It was painful. Like, it turned into lame scenes of action and the last scene was basically "All we need is friends! Weeee!", something that totally goes against the exhorbitant amount of fanservice and cliché scenes.
Oh well, I'm gonna postpone S4 for later. Right now, I'm finally starting on Shingeki no Kyojin. Downloading Ep 1 at the moment :)

I was waiting for Snk to finish airing, as I enjoy marathoning anime rather than watching single episodes every week :P

I'm gonna keep sharing my thoughts on SnK every 2-3 episodes even though I'm a bit late to the party :P Sorry, I'll try to keep up with the thread next time :P
Episode 1 was a strong episode! I mean, the first episode is generally the episode where the viewer gets to meet the main characters and, towards the end of the episode, decides whether an anime is going to be a good watch or not.
Characters
The art looks great for me. Different style than the usual, the little details got a lot of attention, (for example, you could see subtle eyelashes during close-ups on a characters's face) and the giant titan were very well made.
Like Searz pointed out in his comments, some scenes were over-dramatized with the use of unnecessary speedlines and some kind of "pauses" or "stills". I mean, it could work with Detective Conan and such, but in SnK, I believe it is better if they let the viewer decide how dramatic a scene would be by himself.

There's nothing wrong with liking fanservice.
I personally don't like it, but my preference against it is more of a result of my preference toward a good and reasonable story. I really do think that it gets very silly when girls somehow only can take damage to their clothes and are pretty much flashing their T&A in your face for at least one page every chapter.
