I think I'll have to agree with Canoas on this one.
There's a lot of **** going on in businesses.
And unlike what Polse seems to think; it's NOT okay. Being a businessman doesn't excuse you from the **** you do.

Well it actually does, because you don't just "do ****" you "do **** for a reason, often being efficiency or profit"

Business is business, if you buy something and it's not profitable or just could be more profitable under other circumstances you're doing society a favor if you do so.

Say, scrap/ditch the company and put the money in another company similar to the bad one but post it into a good one, thus helping society be more efficient as a whole.

You simply do not understand what I said --.--

"****" implies that what they're doing is bad for everyone but themselves.
For example, Apple does a lot of "****".

So destroying a good functional company for quick personal profit benefits society? Please explain.

That's what you don't seem to get Canoas. No one would invest a lot of money on a good functional company and sell it as soon as possible, unless that company has problems. You have no idea what those companies problems were. Were they near bankrupt? Did they have any hope of having long term profitable income? Were they slowing losing more and more profit each year?

You really seem to believe businessman are stupid. They aren't. They do stuff for a reason. Reason that usually is about making more money themselves. Who would invest in a ''good and functional'' company just to re-sell.

Why do businessman buy companies? To gain more money of course. So, when they are going to buy a company, they look at their financial state. What can they do with that company to increase their own money? Would it be smart to invest in it? Is it safe? Would it be better to just re-sell it since the company is doomed either way?

Like I said in my previous post, you don't know (neither do I) what kind of financial problems, the companies Romney bought, had. His actions speak for themselves though. Those companies cannot have been good and functional (wich means they have increased profit each years), otherwise he would've kept them to get even more money.

+rep me and you'll get good karma, wich means you won't be reincarnated into a rock! Isn't that awesome?

But yes this idea has been discussed more than Pam Anderson's tits in a plastic surgeons office.

That's what you don't seem to get Fox Rage. People can buy 51% of a companie's stock to become the mojority shareholder and then "steal" all the money a company has.

Well stealing is illegal so obviously he hasn't been doing anything like that.
Making companies go bankrupt from depriving them from funds is fraud, so he hasn't been doing anything like that either.

I simply am not gonna acknowledge anything immoral that you claim has been done of which there isn't a reliable source on.

No, no they can't.
They can't touch pensions, either.

Listen, you guys can sit here and speculate about venture capitalism all you want. Almost everything said here is blatantly incorrect. I've known several venture capitalists in my lifetime, and I'm quite business-literate thanks to my BA in business. Long story short, if you're not in the world, don't speculate and posture on an internet board about it. None of you really know what's going on.

Second, can we all pay attention to whichever guy said that socialism is good and it works? That was the biggest bombshell of this thread and everyone ignored it. Go ask Europe how socialism is working out for them.

Socialism is working pretty well actually. Sweden, Japan, Norway, etc. have the best quality of life. Take a look at the US now, how ****ty is that? You guys even had to shut down the space program lol
15.9 on the income 10% equality ratio and 8.4 on the 20% lol. Yep, you guys are doing really great. Everyone must be really happy over there.
