I believe the true problem lies in the unwillingness of either side to explore thoughts, ideas and evidence from the opposing side. I believe that it all comes down to a matter of pride and the unwillingness to admit that their knowledge is wrong and that they need to research more.

I told my dad what i thought about the bible and that i was an atheist
He told me that i was interpreting the bible in a way that benefits my goal of bashing it
He also told me that he was happy i was thinking rationally and backed me up on many points that i mentioned including evolution
He told me that i was free to believe what ever i wanted to believe
Glad i didnt get ****ed up and now i dont need to be worried about anything :D
