If they'd just make it better he'll be much better.
He'd be better with CC or some kind of shield on it (removing the heal and adding other stuff instead).

Tbh i like yis skillset since is W is so fun to use. Blocking a veigar/caitlyn/annie/"insert randum burst champion here"-ult is a great mechanic :)
his earlygame stats will just need a boost because thats what he relies on in the jungle. Before noc/gp/lee were introduced he was fine imo because he could 1v1 pretty much any other jungle and thats what gave him huge strength in soloQ games. Nowadays its hard to do so and as a result his bad midgame will keep you down.
A little basestatboost would probably do the trick (along with the long awaited leesin/gp nerfs)

the heal is amazing idk what u guys are talking about. he gains 250 resistance in MR AND armor. master yi is effectively a tank for 6 seconds. thats why triforce or atmogs is so good on yi.
Yi doesn't need a huge amount. He's one of those champions (like Katarina) who is quite frankly disgusting if the enemy team doesn't have enough CC. Yi's damage is out of this world. I think only his W could do with some form of change, but in all honesty a QSS is probably all I need to be viable as Yi... hell, I usually just get a Frozen Mallet+Wriggles and I'm tanky enough to survive a poorly timed entrance. That's the key to Yi, entering the fight at exactly the right time. Too early and you get gibbed, too late and the battle is already lost.
IMO there are 2 perspectives:
If you are playing as Master Yi, I think meditate should be switched with slow or something like Trynd's
Mocking Shout. I wouldn't change any of his other abilities, R/E and passive are awesome for DPS style and Q is acceptable.
But if we talk about AP Master Yi, it would totally kill him if they remove Meditate, unless they add an AP skill like Sion's stun which would make him Sion like AP nuke.

A shield with a 2,0 AP-ratio^^. Pure fun.
You could jump in with
Alpha Strike, proc
Lich Bane, activate the shield, proc
Lich Bane, activate wuju, proc
Lich Bane and activate ulit and proc

Then run out with nearly no damage taken xD.
