True, I use the lifesteal as well personally.

Just sayin' that a mastery can still be chosen even if it turns out not to be super effective once you run the math (lol Pokemon)

... It's not very effective.

Essentially, Havoc for AD ranged, Life steal for melee is my outlook.

I think it's pretty effective.
Even if you have a superstitious fear of numbers, you can agree that carries need to be kept alive?
And dealing 10 damage is not as great an effect as healing for 20?
The value of lifesteal here seems dramatic and obvious.

I can see where our conversations are going, so I'll keep this simple and short and blunt mister Pranz.

Havoc for carries, lifesteal for melee's, and if you think otherwise your opinion is wrong.

Not really a good way to keep conversation going, Duff. As much as mostly agree with your opinion, you should at least be putting forward arguments instead of simply asserting those who disagree with you are wrong (even if they are).

Anyway, there's a good argument to be made for taking Vampirism over Havoc in some situations even as a ranged carry, if you can't necessarily count on being protected properly, such as at lower ELO where the tanks might not be as good at their jobs. Havoc clearly does more damage any time your damage output is over zero, but, well, (nearly) everyone has zero damage when they're dead.

Yes, but lifesteal isn't used for fighting, it's used to heal up after combat.

You don't need the extra 3% with a wriggles or BT, and the 3% won't allow you to heal up after a fight.

Lifesteal is used to remove the need to recall after a fight, it basically only helps you push.

Clearly you've never seen an AD carry with a lot of lifesteal healing themselves continually in a fight.

@Duff: I'm not saying you're not entitled to have or express your own opinion.
I also really do think Luther is correct in this regard.

On a side note, you can dish out "you're wrong", but you can't take it? If you really want to argue a point, use evidence more substantial than "because I said so".

Nope, i haven't.

If someone builds life steal, with no tank stats, they are just wasting tons of gold on life steal.

If you are building tank stats, life steal, and spending enough gold on that stuff to make it worth while, you can't be considered an AD carry at that point.
