Spamming is against the rules but only in large quantities. Spamming to get past a word filter would PROBABLY be against the rules, but that's not the issue.

I agree more and more with Jun each day that C2V makes guides higher than they should be, and that those rogue downvotes are important to test the true quality of a guide. I like the current system for the time being - let's see how it works out.

How about making the c2v for the first 20 votes AFTER its implemented. That way older guides will still have the same chance as newer guides to have 20 semi legit votes before the haters reappear unregulated.
Did I manage to assist you in any way? Hook me up by hitting that nifty +Rep button.

All guides have been archived due to my not being able to play LoL currently. The information is still there and is good but until I return they will be archived. I am able to keep them updated and current though.

@Sacull_Kinslayer:

Old guides generally are either in a good place, or have plenty of votes to fend for themselves.

Recent guides mostly all have C2V applied, and still do because they're below 20.

The way I see it, there's a Green +1 and a Red -1, and this seems to be too limiting and it's causing some problems. Why not a THIRD option: a YELLOW ''Needs some work'' , wich would give a neutral vote, neither good nor bad, leaving the X% exactly where it is. I'm relatively new to Mobafire, and I cant seem to find all the guides I voted on, and this causes problems to me. If there is no way to find the votes, this site absolutly needs such a system. A Yellow vote is a promise to keep an eye out on selected incomplete guide and should appear in a specific folder in your profile.

I don't believe removing C2V is a good direction because at least then you KNOW how many votes are troll votes and sheep votes. Shouldnt there be a way to remove these parasite votes? how about once a week, the admins/other check out top guides to get cleaned from votes with no actual comments ( ''+/- 1'' ''cool guide'' ''i had to comment to vote'' ''OMG NOOB [item]'' etc...) All removed votes would then remove a REP . Now this would cause another problem: troll reping: creating accounts to give rep. Well how about being required to have X amount of Rep, in order to give Rep ?

Back to the thread's question: Sheep votes and Troll votes are BAD, Down-votes and up-votes are GOOD.

The yellow would also be known as not voting but still leaving a comment. >.>

And mods and vets have enough to do, they aren't going to go through every guide, even the top ones. And deleting troll and sheep votes silences the voter's opinion. Whatever kind of vote it is, if they -1 for "pie", then they obviously do not like your guide because of "pie". Maybe it is a vote out of jealously, maybe they feel like trolling, maybe they actually don't like it but don't feel like saying why. For whatever reason it may be, that is still their opinion, this is a website for opinions, and you cannot silence said opinions.

The idea of the Yellow vote is a promise to follow the guide and up or down vote depending on the writers developpements.

This is a forum about League of Legends, it's players and their opinions on THE GAME itself. If a voter ''likes pancakes'' it should be on a culinary forum, no? ''i like pancakes'' has no place in this forum. ''Pie'' is NOT an opinion on a champion guide, its trolling at it's simplest form. I believe no one is against silencing trolls (that's an opinion right there).

Opinion :
1. A belief or conclusion held with confidence but not substantiated by positive knowledge or proof.
2. A judgment based on special knowledge and given by an expert: a medical opinion.
3. A judgment or estimation of the merit of a person or thing

Troll:
In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts INFLAMMATORY, EXTRANEOUS, OR OFF-TOPIC MESSAGES in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking other users into a desired emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.

Until League of Legends release ''Pancakes the Summoner's Delight'' champion, please explain to me how ''i like pancake'' is an opinion on any LOL Guide. Then explain how a comment is both an opinion AND trolling.

Mobafire needs to recognise the difference between opinion and trolling. I'm not saying the system is broken, they've done a good job improving, I just dont believe it's time to stop improving.

@Gray:

I personally hate the idea of a Neutral Vote.

Neutrality is such lame position to take in my opinion when there's little shrouded in uncertainty.
If you're unsure of something, the maybe, but when everything's pasted out in front of you like how a guide is, a person should be capable of forming an positive/negative opinion.
If no opinion is formed, then there's really no reason to be commenting anyway.

@Gray: You seem to be confusing "comment-to-vote" with "reason-behind-vote". C2V is designed to force a comment along with your vote, but it does not guarantee a reason.

Exemple:

I found a guide for a Maokai.
-I think the items shown are good but doesnt explain why they were chosen or how they work with the build.
-There is a lack of situational items.
-The guide explains little to no in-game tactics and neither what to do in early, mid and late game.
-The guide is filled with written errors.

I see a neutral vote a viable choice if a guide contains one or more of these problems (wich, let's face it, is alot of them). But i prefer to leave a constructive comment on what to improve, because the writer did a good job on certain parts of the guide. I'll say it again, the Yellow vote is a promise to down or up vote a guide later on because it still needs work. Upon updating the guide, Yellow-voters receive a notification, reminding them to check it out again and see if there's been improvement. With Yellow votes you'd actually CARE about a guide and see it grow, instead of '' oh thats a bad guide, this one's incomplete, etc...''.

Any person that takes the time to write an intelligent comment like that will also be able to put "make some changes and I'll +1" at the end of that comment, and actually remember to check back later to see if those changes have been made.

You need to log in before commenting.
