but

as I just said

it is the most effective method

as any other would be somewhat impossible/extremely time consuming.

Thanks to TRUeLM, Plastictree, Scrax, Xiaowiriamu, foggy12, JahGFX, jhoijhoi, msrobinson, JEFFY40HANDS, Nyoike, MissMaw, and me :) for the sigs!

I agree. Changes that completely change up a character's makeup (Rabadon's changed everyone's life) should immediately archive the guides that aren't updating according to the patch (provided the changes are serious enough).

I've suggested this in another thread in this sub-forum somewhere, it would check builds/guides that have been affected by a patch to the database, and if it wasn't updated it would be moved to something kind of like an archived list.

I like the idea of being able to force archive, but I feel like it can be abused if not implemented with fail-safes.

More than one mod imo. Makes a stronger fail-safe.

I think this would be good if you give guidewriters a week after the changes to alter the build, then start polls for people to be able to vote to archive.

Also some things are subjective. For example they've changed Kog twice recently, but I only changed one item on my build, because I still think that way works best, even though now there are more ways to play him (maybe?).

But yeah... I think you should give guidewriters a little window to fix their guides, then vote.
Thanks to GrandMasterD for my sig!

I still don't feel like having a guide already at 90% stay at 90% when most of the content is new makes sense. The Kog'Maw change, for example, doesn't radically change how you play the champion - maybe you now have to reach 40% CDR to only have .2 seconds of downtime but apart from that, your items are more or less the same, as is playstyle. A change like the aforementioned Ryze/Gangplank remakes would alter each guide to be completely new.

But for most other changes, existing guides can be modified. For remakes, you can't justify keeping a guide at a high score just because of "reputation".

you kind of can...

especially since most sections, even with a major rework, will still stay...
