My personal preference is AP TF because of how squishy he is and the nice damage to many targets through Wild Cards, but I would like to hear other's opinions on, which TF style is the best and if you think two or more are equal explain.

AP TF

Doran's Ring
Boots of Lucidity
Sheen
Rabadon's DeathCap
LichBane
Other Nice AP items...

Abilities: Wild Cards > Pick A Card > Stacked Deck

AD TF

Doran's Blade
Berserker's Greaves
The Bloodthirster
Infinity Edge
Black Cleaver
Frozen Mallet...

AS/On-Hit TF

Doran's Blade
Berserker's Greaves
Sword of the Divine
Malady
Nashor's Tooth
Phantom Dancer
The Bloodthirster or Hextech Gunblade
Possible The Black Cleaver or a Defensive item such as Banshee's
Guinsoo's Rageblade is another good option

Abilities the same for AD and On-Hit: Stacked Deck > Pick A Card > Wild Cards

What option do you find to be optimal and if you would argue with any of the item builds, explain you reasoning. Obviously, there is some room for change in the item builds to adapt to a game.

Agreed. You have one, maybe two.
Onhit would be more like this
Malady
Black Cleaver
Berserker's Greaves
Sword of the Divine
And some other stuff.
True love is found only in yourself.

Malady On-Hit Lowers Magic Resist
Sword of the Divine On-Hit Does Extra Damage Every 4
Black Cleaver On-Hit Lowers Armor
Guinsoo's Rageblade On-Hit Boosts AS and AP
Phantom Dancer and Nashor's Tooth add AS which allows your On-Hit effects to proc more often
Bloodthirster or Hextech Gunblade for needed Lifesteal/Spell Vamp

not to mention, Wit's End is better than Sword of the Divine unless there is a Jax

Wit's End
does 42x4 damage
deals 168 damage in 4 attacks

Sword of the Divine
does 100 damage on the 4th attack
deals 100 damage every 4th attack

the choice is clear to me...
not to mention magic resist? yes please.

I was just thinking about it a bit more. That's one I haven't used in forever so I have to remember my items. Now I'm thinking to go for
Berserker's Greaves,
then Malady+ Wit's End, which i think is a great combo.
After that depending on the team you could go Black Cleaver to tear through armor or Madred's Bloodrazor to tear through high hp.
If you have the room Guinsoo's Rageblade would be a great item for the increased attack speed and ap.
Then I would suggest going for Hextech Gunblade because you will get a lot of spell vamp with the extra magic damage.

But beyond the on-hit build, what do you think of the other two?

I think it's great that TF can build both ways effectively. It's good to have a flexible champion that can adjust to the team comp but still carry well.

That said, AP TF has sick burst, which I find to be more devastating than raw DPS. A lot of other carries fill the DPS role as well as TF does, while AP TF allows him to function more like an assassin, especially in combination with his ultimate. Wild cards is also a mean harrass.

However, I'm not much of a TF player, I'm just going on experience. Though I think the on-hit build restricts his playstyle too much and works better on someone like warwick, due to his ult. Or Vayne, in combination with Silver Bolts.
Thanks to Lugignaf for the sig!
