They dont need to write detailed long *** guides. THEY ARE PRO. They have proved more in this game then any one of us, therefore they deserve to be on the top regardless of the quailtiy of the guide. They get upvotes cause they are pro, and that is 100% fine with me, they are doing us a favor. who cares its not a novel, they actually make money playing this game. ANY advice they have to give, is PRO advice. Advice you should be paying for.

So imo get over it. or become pro.

That is just the kind of post I would expect from someone who has both an MLG-style signature AND avatar.

Hey, maybe you don't spend enough time on your build to give a ****, but I do. You don't seem to care, so why would you bother throwing a fit when other people are mad about something?

They're not doing me any favors. Their guides aren't worth reading and their builds aren't coveted lost knowledge or ancient Chinese secrets, their builds are mostly obvious. There's no reason they should be included in the listing with the rest of the people who care about their guides. If all you want to do is read a guide from someone with a clan tag stuck to their name, that's fine, they're going to be in a separate section.

Honestly, with the change that's going to go in, it's Win/Win. You still can read their "guides" and the rest of us don't have to feel stomped on anymore. There shouldn't be any issues. You don't need to come in here and trash me for "QQing". It's something I cared about, you don't have to be a **** just for the sake of stepping on someone else's opinion.

Please think before you post please. Pro's need to make detailed guides. They're not making guides to prove themselves, that's not what guides are for. Guides are for helping other people, and just putting a good build is not nearly enough.
If you think pro's are making guides to prove they are good then you must be an idiot. They don't need to prove anything, they need to make guides that teach people how to play. It's simple as that.
Until now the only guides that are worth upvoting/reccing are elementz'. His guides are good both in the build and in the explanation. He actually replies to people's posts and explains why things are good or bad. And the funny thing is, all the vets/mods who replied to his guides just said "this doesn't need a rec because it's a pro guide", only to go rec guides much much worse.
Saintvicious' guides aren't bad either, but they could be a lot better. The other guides are pretty much **** and are better off deleted, like 90% of the guides in mobafire.

There's no need for them to explain everything in detail - most of the stuff guides explain here (that I've read, mainly the top ones of each champion) is just what your abilities do, what items do and what items don't do - this is stuff you learn from playing a normal game or two and seeing what the champion does. Then there are paragraphs upon paragraphs of things about countering champions - this is something you learn with experience. A lot of the things these guides dwell on that make them so long to read is just stuff you learn from experience with playing the game.

I read all their builds, I understand exactly why they do things and why they don't say the things they don't say - because there's no need to explain things that you learn just from playing the actual game. They just explain the things you need to know specific to that champion (i.e what to build, when to build, how to jungle / how to lane effectively, when to use your skills if it isn't an obvious choice) because that's what you're reading the guide to learn. A guide on Warwick shouldn't be teaching you how to lane vs champions, how to use your ultimate, why you don't build AP or full AD items and stuff like that because that's what you learn from just playing the game. They are promoting people to learn from experience why not to do things and why not to build things because that's the best way to learn in this style of game. You think all the pros got good because they saw a guide and then used it all the way to the stage they are at? No, they play lots of games, experiment with builds and experiment with all champions and they apply all the knowledge they've learned over their thousand and more games to get to the stage they are at now.

What I find funny is one user said "Solomid FTW" while trashing the pro guides. The featured guides on Solomid are almost the same quality wise as the pro guides on here - just with more pictures and videos because they have a format that allows you to easily do these things and little effort is involved in the aesthetics of the guide making process.

Maybe it's just me, but if you need a guide to explain to you 100% of the game, you're using guides wrong. Champion guides are meant to be guidelines to playing that champion. They shouldn't be the length of game walkthrough's and they shouldn't be telling you how to do everything in the game.

@dmarco - While Pro guides don't have to be super epic awesome detailed, they shouldn't be as moronic "humorous" as the Cow Guide either.

@dmarco

We don't need guides to explain 100% of the game, we need guides to explain the important things about the game.
The most important things a guide needs to explain:

Reasoning behind item choices - If we already knew why those items are chosen then we wouldn't need to look at the build either.

Reasoning behind mastery/runes choices - Same thing. You need to explain the build, not just show it.

Ability/Skill tricks - There's no need to explain what the skill does, but you should explain things that are not so obvious. For example, janna's E provides the attack damage bonus even after the shield is broken. This does not say in the tooltip and most people don't know about it, so it should be included in a Janna guide.

Role/Positionment during teamfights - It's also important for people to understand what they're supposed to do in team fights. Should you get closer and focus on the carry? Or should you stay in the back and DPS whoever's in range?

I think these are the main points, and most PRO guides do not cover them.

Also, solomid guides are a lot better that the pro guides here. If you're going to comment at least take some time to look at solomid's featured guides and mobafire's pro guides, they're completely on a different level. The highest rated pro guide doesn't even explain the item choices, which is the core of any guide, how can you even say it's good?

This is the attitude that's being brought. It's the same attitude that is discouraged by staff/vets all over the site. Why should anyone be an exception?

I feel like I'm the only one outraged by this. Why does nobody else seem to care? These "Pro" guides are a negative influence on MOBAfire, not to mention half the Pros themselves are just, for lack of a better word, ****s, flaunting their in-game credentials like it makes them good at guides and we should treat their **** like ice cream.

I think you just answered your own question here bro - most pro's a selfcentered douches, but so are many people that play league of legends. Some consider themselves to be great players, when the majority is medium at best.

But here's a statement from me: These pro's have a reason to be douches. Not saying that all of them are, thank god not, but let us just say, that there are a few of them. But there are douchebags all over anyway, many people can't even handle a downrate on their guide.

The pro guides are very good for this community, because those people, who understand the game mechanics quite well and wish to get better, can see new builds from new points of view. That's a good thing. You can mean whatever you want about the pro's, but I'd rather have a pro douchebag than just a douchebag. Besides, if you don't feel that they bring anything constructive, they're still funny as hell (douches in general that is) or just don't read the guides ;)

I don't understand this whole negative attitude over the pro guides. They're good for the site...
