I hope you're using
Strength of Spirit
. It makes a big difference.
Greater Quintessence of Health will also help your survivability early game.

Thanks to Janitsu for the sig!
Take the teleport summoner spell.
Singed doesn't need anything but flash so you can justify taking Tele.

All the top singed guides are not very good imo.
With the CCR nerfs to his ult, people will start to use flash more as well.

Tank/Off-tank Singed should not be getting early kills. He should be last hitting occasionally, and always if he's in a solo lane. Always baby-sit your lane partner, and if they're a carry (Ashe, Cait, Le Blanc, etc.), allow them to get more CS (creep score) and do not take a kill they would be much better off with than you (the tank) but do not be afraid to get a kill they are out of range of (i.e. they are OOM or need to Back.) It's always best to have your carry well farmed and with kills, you can easily get money from assists and farming mid game, as tanks are best late game and so are well taken care of DPS.
Your job is to not take any creep damage, and block any damage your carry/lane partner could take if you are not in range of them to keep the enemies on guard. Focus strongly on lane phase until you are level 6, always keep enough mana for a fling/glue. If you need to back before 6, buy a ward, and don't QQ about it.
Essentially, you shouldn't have any HP issues whatsoever. Don't face-check a bush at level 1, know your enemies and your allies abilities before engaging. Always know or have a good idea of where their/your jungler is at.
Also, I use Movement Quints on Singed, as well as 3 points in
so I just grab
, but
is good as well, so if you do get low early game, you can Back, buy a ward and some pots and
back to your carry.
Once you get a really good hang on him,
is also a really good option.

I typically get a sapphire crystal and get fling but I am having issues with HP in the first 10 mins or so which leads to an early death and getting an early kills is tough. I've tried a ruby instead of sapphire and I've tried a doran's shield to help with hp regen but it takes me away from rod of ages...
So, question is - can you suggest something I try to help at the start or should I just hang out for a few minutes at the start and spectate near the fighting until I can afford some gear and get a little stronger and then start being my normal aggressive pushy self?
