Greater seals of vitality are out classed by a lot of seals. You can used them if you want, but attack speed and armor seals are more effective. As for the masteries, thanks for catching that. I am too lazy to format the different builds into one section right now. Laning and countering champions has gone through many changed, I haven't been able to get everything exactly where I want it to be yet. I have been swamped with work lately, so haven't been able to update it as much as possible. I will be having a major revamp in about a week during break. Until then thanks for your comment and vote.

Gave u +1 earlier, but promised you a deeper review so here you are :D

Criticism:
  • Is Greater Seal of Vitality viable choice for Xin Zhao? If not, why?
  • bit outdated AS in Masteries when taking about Alacrity it's 4% now not 6%
  • Is there a need to divide three builds into different sections? Wouldn't naming them in a single section using [ h2/h1 ] be enough? (I understand the #4th build divided from those 3 as you talk about jungling much later)
  • In Laning and Countering Champions: instead of "-" with color, you could use "Partner" and "Enemy". Also you you have colored legend ("High/Medium/Low threat") but you do not use colors for your descriptions (you also have partnership - no colors, only descriptions used).

What I liked:
  • Great format.
  • Informative
  • "Only the third hit procs spell shields like Banshee's Veil, or Spell Shield." Actually I didn't know about it.
  • Laning and Countering Champions

Over all a great Xin Zhao guide and it really deserves a +1 form me :D

Yea, I haven't had time to update this guide due to school work. Even then I feel like other parts of the guide take priority over the jungle section. Plus keep in mind this was originally a laning guide; I added jungling, because it was effective. The votes/ vet rec were because of the laning sections, not jungling. Look at the laning Xin guides, they are out of date, and aren't detailed. Sure, my jungling sections is outclassed by many of the jungle Xin guides, but in my opinion my lane Xin guide is better than the others. You can't judge my guide solely based on the jungle section. A majority of my guide is on laning, I'd rather that be the basis you judge my guide on than jungling. I haven't used this route since the did rework to the jungle a couple patches back. I have been meaning to change it, but can't find the time. Nowadays I go double golems> red> wraiths> gank, or wolves> Blue> either gank again or kill some other minions. The reason the type of magic resistance is up to players preference, as long as you have some magic resistance you'll be fine. Masteries I do need to change, I made those up before I fully tested all of the mastery paths. 10 gold on smite in my opinion is better than 2 magic resistance, over the course of the game it adds up while 2 magic resistance is negligible.

The reason it was vague was because I wanted you to actually work to fix your guide yourself instead of me doing the work for you. I will however point some things out for you. Lets start with your route:

1. Double Golems- ( Smite here) At this point you should be at level 2 and about 60% health
*Gank top / bottom if they are push out enough
2. Wraiths- At this point you should be at 40% health and almost level 3
3. Wolves- At this point you should be back up to 80% health, and level 3
4. Elder Lizard- ( Smite here) At this point you should be around 60-70% health, and level 3-4
5. Start ganking- Time to get gold for those shiny items
6. Ancient Golem-Give this to your mid if they need it
7. Take dragon at level 9, lower if you have people helping you

This route flat out doesn't work. It's for the old jungle. Double Golems doesn't get you to level 2 anymore. Giving blue buff to mid early only gimps you not only with xp but your mana pool is so low early on it will make your jungle slower or force you to go back often.

Runes, my only problem with your runes is the Greater Glyph of Shielding. While it's great for late game you are ganking early game and many times will be against AP. You literally start with little to no magic resist which makes you susceptible and dangerously vulnerable.

Masteries, in my opinion can be tweaked. Taking a point out of summoners resolve and 2 out of durability would allow you to get 6 MR from Resistance which in my opinion is far greater than 54 health at level 18 especially with your item build. Other than that my personal choice in the offensive tree is to take 4% critical chance and 10% critical damage over 1.5% damage dealt, again that's just my personal choice there.

There are other things that I don't agree with but again they are more fitting my personal play style and preferences so I am not going to mention those. To say "I deem Xin unplayable in ranked as a solo top, and duo lane bot. His only place now is in the jungle" and then have an outdated route is again in my opinion a glaring reason why you shouldn't have a vet recommendation or even half the votes you have.

It's great that you are reading all the comments and taking peoples suggestions but it really annoys me that instead of doing this guide yourself you are basically getting the members here to make your guide for you. If it wasn't for an unwarranted vet recommendation this guide while pretty would have been at the bottom of the list.

Also your jungle build still has some major flaws in it. I am not saying it's not viable but the thinking behind the runes and masteries is a little off as well as the item build order.

Anyway keep up the editing, this guide is getting close to almost being worth the vet recommendation.

Sure, it is going to take forever for me to finish that section. You can proofread it if you have the time, better catch it earlier.

IceCreamy (453) | December 7, 2011 12:36pm
It's no problem, not really a review tho - I did it on behalf of the proofreading request from Nameless' topic ;)

I will get to the other section soon, I'll make sure I'll have it done before the weekend then :)
Unless... that section is not yet finished, perhaps you can PM me once you have it finished and I'll take a look at it then. Are you okay with that?

Calibern (34) | December 7, 2011 11:29am
Thanks Icecreamy for your review. I will get to your suggestions. Been having a lot of tests and projects this week, so I won't get to them until the weekend.

Thanks Kazega for your comment. I was using a new format for the item section, because the old one looked bland. I guess I could come up with one that is less cramped. The weird rune set gives you 10% attack speed. That gives you a bit more sustain than ArP in the jungle, but you can use ArP or Ats runes; it is up to the players preference. If you could point out some grammatical errors that would be great.
