this is really the only reason to get a negative voting? omfg.

and by the way. It its hard dependant to the champ you face in mid. Catalyst first is great for farming because u can stay longer on the lane. If you really get a tear of the goddess against a leblanc first you're just dumb.

there are many champs out there that can kill ryze much faster then ryze can kill them early.

use ur brain please before u write such dumb **** and give negative votings...

hell...

I like your guide!!!
It's exactly how I play Ryze and I have great results!! The only difference is that I use movement speed quintessences.
You have my vote then!!!

Something to consider:
Now that they changed Strength of Spirit , you can try using 8 points in offense neglecting Arcane Knowledge and 22 in utility, not picking Presence of the Master and Sage , so as to assign 3 points in Strength of Spirit . It gives brutal health regen from early on. In addition, in offense, instead of picking 4 ap with Mental Force , you can assign 1 point in Brute Force , 1 point in Summoner's Wrath and 2 points in buthcer. It really helps you farm!(+5 dmg every last hit to minions)

Also for last item, have you ever tried Rylai's Crystal Scepter? Dat slow is scary combined with some HP. Force of Nature is good too.

Hey ^^

You asked for a review in our review shop so I figured it was about time to give you one. Sorry it took a while but we're a bit busy :P

I have some comments in terms of the viability of your current item choices and also some comments in terms of spelling/grammar, visual appearance and depth ;)

Viability/Content

  • You mention in your introduction that you don't want people to downvote solely because of Rabadon's Deathcap. I don't think it's a bad item on Ryze, especially since you already have a lot of mana items with Rod of Ages, Banshee's Veil, Frozen Heart and Archangel's Staff and getting AP at that point isn't bad, but I'd still consider putting Void Staff, Abyssal Mask or Will of the Ancients in your standard build.
    Yes, Void Staff is situational and it's not always the best option to increase Ryze's damage, but any decent enemy will buy a good amount of magic resistance. Of course you will focus the squishies first, but imo you're looking at it the wrong way. You're saying you need to deal as much damage as possible on squishies and pretty much ignore the tanky enemy champions. However, I'd say that Ryze already has more than enough damage to kill squishies if he has built the first 5 items in your build and Void Staff is the item that will allow him to rape the tanky enemies as well.
    You also mention that your support should buy Abyssal Mask, but to be honest I don't think that's a core item for any support. They can buy it, but it also works great on Ryze himself. Just like when buying a Void Staff, it will decrease the enemies' resistances and make it easier for you to kill them.
    Will of the Ancients might sound strange because of Ryze's ultimate, but it is in fact absolutely godlike on him. Late game Ryze is already tanky, but combining that with incredible heals will make you really unkillable while still increasing your damage significantly.
    If you decide to stick with Rabadon's I think that's ok, but personally I'd replace it by one of these items. AP is not bad on Ryze (especially because, like I said, you already have so many mana items), but combining AP with a usefull aura, with spell vamp or with a high amount of magic penetration is just that little bit better imo.
  • I wonder whether getting only mana regen per level runes is the best option. Is there nothing else Ryze needs? Doesn't he already get enough mana from his items and isn't it better to increase his early game tankiness with his runes?

Grammar/Spelling

A lot of mistakes in terms of spelling (Ctrl + F to find where you can find these mistakes):
  • Ryze is one of my main AP carry --> one of my main AP carries or my main AP carry
  • Tear of the godess --> spelled it wrong: Tear of the Goddess
  • Gigh burst --> high
  • No escapeskills --> escape skills
  • itembuild --> item build
  • Ignite is a great support to shut down a single target --> a great spell
  • Dont forget to put one point in Spatial Accuracy --> Spatial Accuracy no longer exists x)
  • will be convertet --> converted
  • your Archangle Staff --> Archangel's Staff
  • damageoutput --> damage output
  • manaregeneration --> mana regeneration
  • Can be usefull --> useful
  • depents on how --> depends
  • Tear of The Godess --> Tear of the Goddess
  • squishie --> squishy
  • Voidstaff --> Void Staff
  • Voidstaff --> Void Staff
  • Lategame --> Late game
  • maincombo --> main combo
  • enought fast --> fast enough
  • itembuild --> item build
  • prefere --> prefer
  • macigpenetration --> magic penetration
  • Supporter --> support
  • waste your gold for a Void Staff --> waste your gold on
  • engageing --> engaging
  • more then enought --> more than enough
  • Tear of the godess --> Tear of the Goddess
  • Tear of Godess --> Tear of the Goddess
  • (because Rabadon's Deathcap's passive]] --> because of Rabadon's Deathcap's passive)
  • +155 damage
    577 * 0.2 = 115 damage --> should be 2x 115
  • dissapointed --> disappointed

Visual Appearance

Overall this guide looks good and I think you use a good amount of colour, but I still have a few tips:
  • Give the word 'Pros' a green colour and make the word 'Cons' red. You can also replace the • by a (green) + or a (red) -
  • Insert some more space between your mastery icons and the text next to it. You can do this using black text:
    Code:
    [icon=Scout][color=black]SPACE[/color]5% more vision range on wards. Can be useful. Nothing more to say.

    Will result in:

    SPACE5% more vision range on wards. Can be useful. Nothing more to say.

    You won't see the black text since the MobaFire website background is also black ;)
  • Work on the spacing in your 'Items' section and use headers for the different 'subsections' (early game, mid game, late game). Might want to center those words as well.

Depth

There is still a lot to improve in terms of depth to be honest. You show that you have no problems going in depth by adding calculations (which is great ^^), but I feel like some basic sections that a guide should contain are missing.
You have no section describing what abilities Ryze has and what they do. Yes, that is very basic information and it's easy to assume everyone knows what Ryze does. However, you can also add useful tips & tricks in this section. Check out this section in one of jhoijhoi's guides to see what I mean.

What's really missing, however, are sections describing the gameplay. It is possibly the most important part of a guide yet it is pretty much non-existent in your case.
Is Ryze strong during the early game? Should he focus on lasthitting or harassing his enemies? Who does he focus in teamfights, where does he position himself?
Which enemy laners can he beat, which ones are really tough for him to face?
Add some sections describing how to play in the early game and in the mid/late game (including teamfights). The section about opponents you will face is optional but would help for anyone who has trouble against specific opponents. Very in-depth information :)

Hope this helps, you can PM me if you've made changes based on my suggestions/criticism.

Good luck on further improving the guide :)

Of course it's rather simple. But this do not deserve a -1, it is fine! It could use abit upgrading, and you need to go more in-depth, but the skill order and build is just as I would do it. Maybe run with ghost instead of ignite. Summoner spells are a pref.

+1. You deserve better rating, just upgrade it abit :)

I do not suppose you could do me a favour and check out my Taric Guide? Maybe drop a vote and an comment, it would mean alot to me :) Thank you.

-Taneren.

EDIT : I won't buy a Rabadon tho'.

RP: W RDC - 811 100 RES - RDC 754 200 RES - RDC 670
W VS - 689 - VS 673 - VS 639

OL: W RDC - 679 - RDC 622 - RDC 538
W VS - 639 - VS 622 - VS 579

SF: W RDC - 332 - RDC 275 - RDC 192
W VS - 231 - VS 215 - VS 171

OL -> RP -> SL -> OL (not allowing for 15 Res drain from SL, which
exponentially benefits the RDC more)

At 100 RES: RDC - 622 + 754 + 275 + 622
VS - 622 + 673 + 215 + 622

=> RDC wins by 141

At 200 RES: RDC - 538 + 670 + 192 + 538
VS - 579 + 639 + 171 + 579

=> VS wins by 30

VS Only just worth taking at 200 Magic resistance over RDC :/
I am proven wrong, RDC all the way

Have one concern, is Void staff not better than Cap? Cap adds 200 AP Max but AP scales fairly poorly; however the 40% penetration would go to all your magic damage which scales well with mana.

I'll try to crack some numbers and get back to you :)
