AD Fighter Skarner?

Since free week, I've been toying with the idea of AD fighter skarner. Something like:
Mercury's Treads/ Ninja Tabi
Vampiric Scepter
Youmuu's Ghostblade
Phage
Phantom Dancer
Frozen Mallet ( Entropy on dominion)
Infinity Edge
Bloodthirster ( Sanguine Blade on dominion)
then finally Phantom Dancer to replace the youmuu's.

The idea being to have stupidly high sustained DPS through fast, hard autoattacks and strong permaslow through Q spam and fromal.

This is just my opinion, because I don't play Skarner, but you seem to be lacking any real form of tankiness other than FroMal. Even with the damage you're still going to die really fast so, you don't have time to do the damages.

I tried something similar when this character was originaly released and it proved very fast to be an extremely bad idea. Your damage is pathetic and you become even more item dependant. Not to mention that Scarner doesn't have a gap closer, so you might even get killed before you even reach your enemies if you run this. Its a lose-lose situation.
But you can win a couple of custom games with this.

Also remember that you're ult essentially makes you incapable of dealing damage to anyone for the duration, except for the Q(As I remember it), which scales harder on AP. This pretty much means that AP Skarner is better overall.
Of course in certain 1v1 situations you can do good with full AD Skarner, however it's limited how many times you'll get fed from just 1v1 fights. You'll need serious feed through ganks, and the Fromal way earlier than you initially wanted to, and perhaps also Atma's for the diving ability; and it also supports your Inf Edge. Etc etc etc.

You can use all your skills when you're ulting. You just can't attack really. :/

Ah, fair enough. Not the big Skarner player. But the fact, as you stated as well, remains: You can't autoattack anyone. And that was the point I had nonetheless, so yeah ._.

This might or might not work, I'd rather play this in the jungle though, but I'd add some more defensive items in there, Skarner has a movement speed increase yes, but if he's going to be a fighter like Mordekaiser etc. He needs more sustain than that methinks. Or you'll get focused and downed. I like the idea of off-tank Skarner, hold onto the idea with mallet, cause I think it's good, but I'd rather build tanky on him, as I would on for example Urgot, who has a similar playstyle sort of (slow shield instead of movement speed shield though).

How about for example Bilgewater Cutlass from your starting Vampiric Scepter (build into Gunblade later), Mercury's Treads, Frozen Mallet, Force of Nature, Warmog's Armor and Atma's Impaler. That would leave you pretty tanky, and you'd have tons of CC, but I really don't know what kind of damage you could deal, or if it would be too expensive. Since I haven't tried it, I can't really say.
