Can I ask why those who are opposed to gay marriage are opposed? Why can a man and a woman who love each other get married, but a man and a man, or a woman and a woman can't?
Human Rights is meant to be about equality for everyone, regardless of race, gender, or sexuality.

Actually the story is true. Obama did propose the gay marriage thing for more votes. Now the gay community, about 1/10 of America will support Obama now. He has been falling down ever since his first year in term of presidency. Now he expects people to reelect him as president? Even my friend says "why gay marriage? If most Americans aren't gay, why choose gay marriage?"

Marriage originates in the church which is a community, we all know, opposes the whole being gay thing. Hence, I can understand why people are actually against gay marriage. Personally, I don't really care.

Opposing gay marriage is stupid. Gay people are just like you. If you are a guy, then you find that girl and girl are cute. If you are a girl, it doesn't really matter. You think, "Gross" if they are the same sex as you like a heterosexual guy saying that a homosexual male couple is "gross" and saying that a homosexual female couple is "cute". It's a fact that those gay couples that are the same sex as the heterosexual sexist will be more opposed.
I personally think that homosexual marriages should be allowed because they are as human as you. Happiness is a feeling, love is real. If you take away their love, what is happiness?

Agreed. It's funny that the Human Rights act actually mentions this -
"Article 12: Right to marriage
Men and women of marriageable age shall have the right to marry and to found a family, according to national laws governing the exercise of this right. "
It never ever states "straight" men and women.

No it doesn't. If it did, why, then, can/could you get married in countries like Japan, Korea, Pakistan, Libya, despite the fact they are not Christian?
It's recognised by law in most countries as a partnership between two or more (in some countries) people. It is, however, seen as 'sacred' by Christianity (and a few other religions), but by no means did marriage ever come from it, or any religion.

In that case it is quite odd that gay marriage isn't possible in so much (western) countries.
