Jax is weak the first 2-3 levels, implying they aren't using flat AD quints and marks. Once he gets his full combo though he becomes a real threat. He's still easy to zone though until either level 6 or when he goes back and grabs
Wriggle's Lantern or
Bilgewater Cutlass. Once he has life steal you're kind of done with that lane :( AP would give you a better chance although I still would not recommend going head to head with him. And yeah, late game Jax is gonna shred you. At least you could back door? :3

Yes, really. I honestly don't think you can win, BUT, in order to have a chance, your build will need to be absolutely ******ed, something like 2-3 BT's, a PD, and a Randuin's Omen. Maybe an Infinity Edge.
Also when he counter strikes you should try to use Alpha Strike to avoid the stun.

So yeah. Ridiculous Attack damage, attack speed and lifesteal would counter

Yeah in a real scenario Yi won't beat Jax, but, in a 1v1 he can, with crit, AS and big deeps + lifesteal.
Yi's ulti would be the widow maker in that 1v1 fight.
